A good short stay.

Bell tent sleeping was great! Lovely location and close to coastal path.

Some more solar panels to provide lighting for longer would have been appreciated.

We left at 7am but were able to use kitchen facilities to make tea and toast we brought with us ideal we enjoyed our stay

Look after your property YHA better this will save you a lot more money in the long run.

Beautiful views of surrounding countryside and can see the sea in the distance at a certain angle. Lovely fresh air. Positive friendly staff.

I noticed one of the showers needed replacement of mouldy white silicone rubber. Below the drinking water area was wet on the beautiful hardwood parkay floor was soaking with splashed water. This will eventually cause thousands of pounds of damage in wet and possibly dry rot. It was sad to see. Although it didn't detract or make the stay unpleasant. It was a serious problem if they don't deal with it. There was a water leak from the ceiling in toilet bathroom area. The property needs some tender loving care or it will cost them an absolute fortune if left unattended. These didn't detract from the generally nice stay.

Fabulous stay and great price.

This hostel was so much better than I was hoping. I stayed there as a last minute booking for one night, with my 3 children (age 5,9,10). The welcome from staff was super friendly and accommodating, the accommodation was beautifully clean and comfortable, the cooked breakfast was fab and great value for money. I really couldn’t recommend this hostel highly enough. I’ll be staying again.

Lovely stay in quiet area

It was our first time to stay in YHA Hostel in Beer.We were greeted by a lovely receptionist (have not asked his name) but he was very polite and welcoming.He even stayed half hour longer at reception as we were stuck in traffic and he waited for us to check in before reception would close.He even gave us a call to find out if we are en route! Which I found really kind.When we arrived,check in was prompt with lots of information we needed ,so thank you ! Other reviews say that hostel is dated,which is,but it’s very clean,beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean.Place is located in quiet area and short walk to picturesque Beer village.

The staff were super accommodating, helpful and friendly. The cooked breakfast was delicious and all in all the facilities were great, clean and comfy.

We'd really like more low level lighting in the bedrooms; maybe a reading light?

Having a private room was amazing for the price, we didn’t feel rushed around and everyone was very friendly that we met. The noise curfew of the guests was a huge bonus while travelling with my family as my children are very young and needed the quiet to sleep.

The showers are very small but they did the job, it is a hostel so we weren’t expecting en suite’s with our room.

Nice and clean hostel on top of a hill, a short walk away from a beautiful seaside town. Love the town and scenery. Wouldn't mind staying there again..

Fantastic hostel

Beautiful location and building. True canopy of stars at night. Very quiet. Extremely clean. Staff so kind and friendly. Strong phone signal for Smarty. Delicious cooked breakfast. Fully equipped self catering kitchen to access. We were in one of the provided Bell Tents - it was so lovely. Pretty bunting, log burner with fuel provided, very comfy beds.

Toilet and showers are quite small and tucked away withing the hostel building. Absolutely fine for hostel living and extremely clean. Need to block other cars in the car park to fit everyone in. Great system for being able to find others to move their car for you and staff were always on hand to assist. No WiFi provided but my phone had a strong signal (Smarty) and I had plenty of data so wasn't a problem.

Generally happy and satisfied, but for the issue mentioned.

The location is excellent. We were also able to walk into Beer and enjoy the firework display. Beds were comfortable and breakfast set us up for a day at the Beautiful Days music festival, Escott Park, Honiton.

Our main issue was sleeping in a very warm and virtually airless room. Outside conditions were still, and with only one window to open the room was stuffy. We are none of us afraid of fresh air and on a warm summer night sleeping was difficult. Its been that kind of summer, but being able to better facilitate a change of air helps. I realise there re also security and protection issues too - its not an easy fix.

great location & grounds / gardens.

the car park was very small & we had to move our car a few times as you have to block each other in. not a criticism just an observation. The shower curtains could do with replacing as some were mouldy.
