Great location in the lovely village of Branscombe with an old mill now a cafe, a working forge and opther features, a short wooded walk to the beach and other beautiful trails through the village and up on to the cliff tops. The staff were warm and efficient and the 'standard' room very comfortable; avoid the small number of rooms beside the carpark as cars park right up to the entrance doors. The rooms above these with the garden terrace are excellent, with a comfortable seating area and a fridge! The restaurant food was very good but could do with more variety especially if one stays for more than a couple of nights. Cooked breakfasts were excellent; the cereal and fruit table could be more ambitious! Altogether, a very attractive and enjoyable stay.

Very comfortable ,nice rooms , lovely garden spaces, the food was good . This was all eclipsed by the general feel of a the place and the attitude of the staff. Most things seemed to be too much trouble from start to finish. It seemed to be all about the look with no regard for the guests. Sad really
