Everything was absolutely perfect! The location of Hotel Sole is unbeatable — right by the lake, just a few steps from the charming center of Limone. The view from our balcony was breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The room was spotless, bright, and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. The staff were incredibly kind, smiling and helpful all the time — they truly made us feel welcome.

The best location in Limone and great value for money

This hotel surpassed our expectations. It wasn't the "smartest" or most modern looking of these we considered from the photos we saw, but we chose it for the lake-front location. We were very happy with all aspects of our stay there. Our "comfort" room was spacious, well furnished and equipped and had two balconies - one to the side and a large terrace with sunloungers and table with 5 chairs. The location couldn't be beaten - right on the lakeside and at the same time right in the heart of the town. It may turn out to be busier and noisier outside at high season but we found it a peaceful place to stay and were very happy to be able to just pop downstairs for a drink or snack at the cafe bar and to find good restaurants within a few minutes walk. Breakfast was a buffet and was more extensive than we'd expected, with choices for everyone. Car parking was a bonus - free and with a guaranteed space in the nearby multistorey carpark for anyone booking a double room. The hotel is one of those closest to the car park and they provide a tessera (card) to get through the barriers. This can save around 20 euros per day.

We have very little to be negative about. Many of the staff were friendly and chatty and all were helpful and accommodating when we needed it. There are quite a few signs and notices around which felt a little bit over the top (do's and don'ts) but may have been put there because of previous problems with guests. The shower room was a little dated compared to the bedroom but was immaculate and well stocked with toiletries and fresh towels. Good shower too.

Lake Garda's beauty supersedes the hotel's shortcomings and my comments are intended constructively.

The location of the hotel was perfect, and the breakfast buffet was plentiful. There was a restaurant and bar on the ground floor. It is a typical Italian old-style hotel with the bonus of a lift.

Our room and bathroom were a bit small, and the balconies were very close to each other so neighbours' smoking inhibited our enjoyment. Rooms could use some updating. Breakfast started too late especially when wanting to take an early boat on the lake and early-comers were frowned upon. Asking for hot water for me to bring to my room seemed a hardship. (There was no electric kettle in the room.) Instructions to the carpark were confusing (eg how does one determine the "last tunnel" from either direction?). The instructions should plainly state that you must drive into carpark, take a ticket, go to hotel to pay €20 for their card key, drive out, pay the €2.50 minimum charge and then drive back in with the card. It took ages.

Great location with good views of lake and mountains from the balcony. Breakfast excellent. Plenty of choice of restaurants nearby. Trip to Malcesine well worth doing, boat right opposite hotel. Free parking worked OK, in near by multistorey.

Room for improvement of reception staff. Young lady very pleasant and helpful, other staff not so welcoming, with not so much as an acknowledgement. Other staff all ok.

Awful personal, no English, nobody at the reception, they double cashed my money, I have told them that I have already paid, they said is only a pre authorization, and that was a lie, it was’t a pre authorization because one day later the bank took took the same sum of money again. When I reported the problem they said to call in 30 minutes, I called back and the staff hung up the phone in my face, and then they blocked my number I called on another phone and they hung up the phone again, I just couldn’t believe it, I was shocked. Then I called at booking and they saw I was right that this hotel cashed my money twice, and made a solicitation for restitution. If it wasn’t booking this awful staff from Sole hotel wouldn’t even talk to me but to give my money back. Limone is great but the staff has zero respect for clients, and they acted like thieves.

Due to being located in an old building, rooms are not sound proof at all, one hears quite some sound from rooms next door. You should bring ear plugs… The Airconditioner works, however the rooms got very cold and the aircon turned itseld off randomly after some time and we had to reactivate it at night, as it got very hot in the room again (July, Outside Temp 28+ Degrees C)..

We loved everything about this stay and will definitely be back, rooms were nice and air con was perfect for the hot day! balcony overlooking the river is a must, worth paying a little bit extra - there is parking, however it is a 3 minutes walk from the hotel which was fine - multi story car park

We found the staff unhelpful and unfriendly. The fact you had no control over the aircon. It was set at 22 degrees which we found far too hot for sleeping. Limone is very beautiful though.

It was nice, but I wouldn’t stay there again

The view and location is great. The breakfast was excellent. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The water pressure in the shower is amazing.

My biggest complaint is the Air Conditioner. They had it set to 22c which is way too warm and you can’t change it. The room got too hot and I had trouble sleeping. Thankfully the weather wasn’t too hot. I can’t imagine how it is on really hot days. I complained and asked if they could lower it. The owner said no because they had a few people faint and had to call the ambulance due to the room being too cold. That was a straight up lie. Even if people did need an ambulance, it wasn’t because of the AC. Only in Italy will people think the cold air is a health hazard. I suspect they keep it set at 22 to save energy costs. Another thing is breakfast starts at 8, and they’re very rigid. I’m an early riser and like to have a coffee by 7. I went down there at 7:30 and everything was set up already so I tried to get a coffee from the automatic machine but they chased me out. I found this very strange and inconvenient. If you have a schedule to keep, this can be a hindrance. The parking garage is about 100 meters from the hotel and if you need, they can get a transport for you, but it’s slightly inconvenient. Lastly, because of the hot room, I slept with the balcony door open because the night air was cooler than the AC. However, because of that, I could hear the morning deliveries and sanitation workers very early, which was loud and annoying. Although they try to be accommodating and helpful, they’ll only help as long as it doesn’t inconvenience them.
