Hotel Albahia Alicante

The location was fantastic. Beach was close by and about 30 mins walk to Alicante or 10 mins drive. Hotel had lovely breakfast and amazing swimming pool area. Plus, staff were super nice.

Main thing we didn’t like was the bedroom as it was a bit outdated. The bed was uncomfortable and bathroom needed updating as the tub was rusty. Plus, you are sharing a door with the room opposite you which was locked but still felt weird.

Great location.On the beach,near the tram station.Hotel is perfect,rooms are clean and the most important,beds are comfortable.Hotel staff is very friendly and reception is 24/7.

Seeing the outside I was a bit worried, but actually it was excellent. I got an upgraded room with a sea view. The room was clean spacious and welcoming with a nice view of the sea, which can be reached easily from the back door of the hotel in just a minute or so. I used the tram to get here, the stop is about 10 minutes walk on a mostly traffic free route (much of it through an old railway tunnel, which is lit but there is a parallel road if you prefer). Peaceful location but easy access to Alicante, the tram is cheap and fast. Good choice of food for breakfast. I used the hotel restaurant in the evening which was good value for money and had a good choice. I liked the bar/cafe area decor slightly like 1970s but modernised.

First impression was not good, the hotel is within a rather ugly block of flats and the entrance kind of below ground level. But inside it is much nicer than it looks from the outside! The staff in the restaurant not too welcoming with an immediate "have you booked?" but no one mentioned any need to book when I checked in or I would have doine so. However there was room so it wasn't a problem (there is not much else in the immediate area).
