Stayed for 5 days and loved the area. Beautiful flat walkways and promenade. I hired a mobility scooter and it was great area to go and visit
The hotel faces the harbour one side and the sea the other. Massive hotel and is highly recommended by many reviews.
We had dinner one night only in restaurant and the paella was delicious.
Hotel never seemed too busy.
Only negatives
Pool seems v small for area ot covers in hotel. The level have their own.pool too .
Entertainment noise carries to all floors above solarium or pool depending where entertainers perform
Hotel is good high standard and definitely best location in Alicante.

The Melia is a real rabbit warren of a hotel extended over time. There are very few food and drink options if you’re u don’t want to buy a standard buffet lunch or dinner. Drinks and tapas are very expensive. Our room (premium marina. view) no 1038 was right next to the staff service lift we could hear all day and night so avoid that room.
The location is excellent as it s a quick walk to the Esplanada, the old town or to the beach.
We couldn’t use the swimming pool as all loungers went early and the pool was so crowded - far too small for the huge number of guests.

There is no value for money staying here due to the fact that they probably have a monopoly. For that kind of money you pay, you definitely could get more luxury in less overcrowded and overpriced locations/countries.
Because of this monopoly of their location, not only if it expensive, but some of they're staff are indifferent.
The housekeeping don't bother to replace consumables in the toilet nor the tea tray. That for a " how-many- stars?" hotel!!
