Good staff, decent for the price, but a bit neglected

The staff was wonderful, and especially the staff member dealing with the breakfast. She was very nice and helpful, asking if there was anything I needed, and if everything was to my liking, and doing her best to make smalltalk and brighten the cloudy mornings. The breakfast selection itself was nice for the small size, with freshly baked breads, cheeses, smoked sausages and salmon, muesli and cereal, yoghurt, fruit juice, eggs, tomatoes, etc. The bathroom looked and smelled very clean, with the scent of bleach and disinfectant still in the air when I arrived. Location-wise, it's very close to the X35 bus, taking you to the city center in about 30 mins.

The building could use some upkeep, unfortunately. There's carpet patchwork everywhere, bleach stains, and random "color blotches" on the carpet from god knows what. Although clean, there's rust in random places in the shower, and around the bathroom, giving off a bit of a neglected vibe.

I had a positive experience overall.

The hotel room was very spacious and nice for the price. The shower was a good pressure with nice temperature control. The beds were comfortable. Overall I had a pleasant stay.

The only issue was that there wasn't a good curtain to stop light coming in from the street and the nearby road audible so if you are a light sleeper (I'm not) then this is something you should consider.

the experience was terrible unfortunately. The rooms were dirty, not updated, even with dirty bedsheets, and we are in the process of a larger complaint (we were 5 families visiting the hotel due to a familiar event) and we are requesting our money back. Not clean, not updated. A pity, since we have been using the hotel before and it was always a pleasant stay and in good shape. You cannot blame de Covid anymore, since they charged us full price for 1/3 of the services.

Comfortable stay but disappointed on the cleanliness side

I was actually pleasantly surprised that the mini-bar was stocked with 2 beers, 2 cokes and a big bottle of water (which unfortunately was sparkling so I could not use it to make coffee.) I had been informed that the "first fill" of the drinks was free. Considering that the room rate was not that expensive, I thought the free mini-bar was a nice touch! Breakfast area had a nice "garden setting". As to the breakfast itself, it was limited to cold cuts and cheese, yogurt, cereals, and some bread selection plus coffee/juices. Boiled eggs are readily available but cooked eggs (fried, scrambled, etc.) can be ordered. Wi-fi was excellent. Hotel is close to the bus stops.

Much as I would like to give this hotel a good review because of the things that I liked, it didn't quite make the cut when it came to cleanliness. Sure, the obvious spots appear 'clean', but when it came to the finer details, I was disappointed. I really wanted to make coffee that first night, but not only did I only had sparkling water in the mini-bar, I also found the kettle a little 'dirty' for my liking. The lid was covered in dust so I decided to wash it. Then I saw the bottom of the kettle was filled with limescale (or maybe rust?) and left over water from whoever used it the last time. This to me was still fine. However, the worst part was the removable filter at the tip of the kettle. It was all covered in brown gunk and I had to remove it to see if I could wash it thoroughly. I did manage to clear the brown stuff but gave up as I thought the kettle needed some proper and thorough cleaning. Another thing I didn't like was the blinds in the bathroom. They appear to be so old that some slats appear bent/crumpled and that there was no cord to pull or a rod to twist in order to open the slats. It's either you pull the blinds up completely or keep them down but with the slats shut. Because the slats were bent and had gaps that can be seen from the outside parking lot, I tried to arrange the slats in order to minimize the gaps. This was when I noticed my fingers turn black from the dust that accumulated on the blinds. As the hotel appears old, the furniture like sofas/chairs, drapes and carpets also look tired but at least they appear to be clean. It is the less obvious ones such as the ones I mentioned above that have not been cleaned very well. Plus the walls could use some fresh paint or maybe a good scrubbing as they are filled with scratches and marks that make them look unclean.
