We hear car noises from the street whole the night

We booked the premium room and realized after our friend got a premium room upgrade from booking where he paid less that we got a much lower quality room. Management was not responsive at all to move us and we had asked for a king bed but got two twin beds instead. Our friend got his room of choice. They seemed to favor him because he was a foreigner. My wife cried after speaking to the front desk because of how mean they were. At the pool, they restrict her from even drinking a small bottle of orange juice. He was very mean as well. The hotel had loud music coming from their upstairs bar which stayed loud till 1 am. The mattresses were uncomfortable and old. The daily room turnover was unpredictable of time and they didn’t stock our room with body lotion or conditioner as they had done with our friends room. When I asked for it, the person dropping it off was rude. They also forgot our daily water one day. When we tried to switch to a better room on 5th floor, they would tell us it wasn’t a problem but then would claim there was no rooms available. Lastly, they would t even include a breakfast for our troubles. They refused to bend in any way. Management is horrible. The bell man was the very nice and tried to help. I would t recommend this hotel at all. I’d pay more and stay at one of the more reputable hotels.

We had not stayed at Palm Beach hotel for over a decade and we were pleased to see that it has been renovated in a pleasing mix of ArtDeco and modern style. Service was perhaps a little lacking: we could not find the QR codes for laundry and room service, the telephone line to reception was so crackly it was hard to hear and we even got an unwanted wake up call (although the staff profusely apologised for the mix up)! Perhaps the most annoying thing was that we stayed on the 5th floor and the fantastic view was marred by being woken up by the scraping of chairs in the restaurant on the floor above every morning. The one day we went upstairs to have breakfast (and discovered it was impossible not to scrape the chairs loudly) we were very disappointed by the breakfast offering. But there is a small shop where you can buy saj just across the road, as well as Murray for seaside snacks and argila, so we did not mind missing breakfast very much. The staff were all very nice and welcoming and performed their roles satisfactorily. I would most strongly recommend the addition of some felt disks stuck to the feet of the chairs in the restaurant, which would make all the difference to the noise on the floor below....
