Sintra Sol - Apartamentos Turisticos

The Apartment was a really good size and fully equipped with a balcony overlooking the pool and the beach beyond. The bathroom looked newly refurbished and was good. It didn't have air con but the rooms stayed comfortable with a bit of curtain management. The pool was a really good size with a diving platform and a slide. There was a separate pool for the smaller ones which looked pretty good. Location was good with just a 5 minute walk into the centre of Praia das Macas with a good number of restaurants and a mini market. A big supermarket is 2/3 km away so easy if you have a car.There was an indoor market across the road which was good for the essentials - bread, fruit, coffee etc. We also caught an uber to the wonderful palaces at Sintra from our base here.

Firstly the property as a whole is starting to look a little tired and needs some tlc over the winter months. painting definitely and replacement tiles in the pool although i understand that they do not shut at all so not sure when. Secondly at no point when we booked were we informed that high season finished the day before we got there so the cafes, ice cream shop etc were all shut. it wasn't a major problem for us as there are places close by but would have been nice to know.

The complex was fantastic and the pool and view out to sea amazing.

We had this run down resort all to ourselves and the sunsets were amazing. So was the informative on site staff. Who showed us what this place was like in its heyday. It has so much potential for revival as a 50s themed resort 😃

It was very expensive for absolutely no amenity outside our rooms. The pools were empty there were no cafes or restaurants which were either no longer operational or closed? There was not an umbrella in sight or a useable deck chair. It was seriously like some deserted horror movie set. Rusted swimming pool diving board and water slides into a grubby empty pool. Such a shame
