Small private room with balcony looking out on a courtyard, in an absolutely gorgeous building just off the Gran Vía, shared bathroom but with a sink in the room. I arrived an hour-and-a-half early and expected to store my luggage while waiting for the room but they had it ready for me (amazing!). The person who checked me in was so kind, which, as a weary traveller, meant a lot to me. An amazing stay.

The location couldn't be better, and the staff, mostly kind and communicative Jessica, was excellent. The single room with private bathroom was small, but not constraining. Good space for laying open the suitcase and getting it out of the way.
The front door to the building was very, very heavy, and with a dangerous step, but... it is a period building, so nothing the hostal can do about it...
