Beautiful homestay

I really enjoyed my stay here. The owners are very nice and welcoming. The place is spacious, clean, and comfortable with a beautiful garden. There is a shared kitchen with free drinking water, which is very convenient. It felt very relaxing and I would definitely recommend it.

Oasis!

The place is an oasis in the middle of Medewi, close to the beach with a nice little pool. Just perfect to sink after the surf. By a stream in the middle of the jungle. Beautiful experience!! We loved the place!! Kitchen well equipped. Beautiful view from the balcony.

Aircon is upstairs by the bed, so hard to cool down the downstairs area but too strong to sleep with it on. I found hard to find a good temperature. No edge protection on windows upstairs, not to safe to open the sliding windows (in case you travel with children).

Very nice stay

Lovely hosts. Ayumar who is local and Marcus who is from Germany. They are around the property most of the time or very responsive over whatsapp if they are not there. The designs of the rooms is really cool, they're comfy and the AC is cold. The wifi is good enough to work remotely from and have meetings on Zoom/Teams. Medewi is a Muslim part of Bali and the Mosques are very loud at 5am. Bring earplugs or use this as your alarm clock for a sunrise surf. You will have this in any accommodation in Medewi, not only Ayumar Homestay. FYI. You will need to hire a scooter as this location is a long walk from the surf. Its a very short scooter ride and super peaceful. So not a negative.

Good stay if your on a budget

It is a nice place , in middle of nature, close to restaurants. You can also use the shared kitchen to prepare your own food. The wooden house we rented also had a nice hammock outside.

The wifi works but not stable enough to really do a lot of work or watch a movie - & you can hear the prayers quite loudly early morning and during the day. We stayed in one of the wooden houses and the front was glass but because it was in front of the kitchen , we had to close the curtains it if we wanted some privacy which ment that it was very dark inside. On the back side the hut is open without wall which gives a nice jungle feel because you are in front of plants but also happened that I was ready for a shower and there were two farmers working there which who I made eye contact with so that’s not comfortable at all.

You will not regret your stay at "Ayumar "

Many things to like about 'Ayumar Homestay'. ..: Marcus and his wife, owners both..: cleverly picked a great location, to build/expand their Homestay and are genuinely concerned your stay is memorable and pleasant. Each bungalow ..: good WiFi, cooled with good a/c.and the shared kitchen..: all quality appliances and we're able to use day/night . The 'honour' system, when buying beers /drinks.. ideal: giving US the initiative and the fridge fully stocked ,any time. The location..: away from the road (not busy ), and a short 20 minute walk to the beach. "Ayumar" has a pool..: another plus ! Marcus and his wife..always 'up' for a good discussion..appreciated by all ! He has a young local (?)woman who tirelessly works , cleaning and whose English is constantly improving ..has a great work ethic /polite and friendly. Another big plus to their Homestay. What they have done to make it so enjoyable is a credit to them and I wish them all the success in the future. .

Please..: I really cannot describe anything to 'dislike' at "Ayumar Homestay " . A traveller would be VERY hard to please if they could relate any issues. ( I booked for 3 nights..extended a further 2 )

The place looks recently renovated which is nice. The cabin is also large, clean and with aircon. In front of the cabin is a good looking shared garden with mini pool. Also a shared space with kitchen for having breakfast or cook your own meal.

Everyday 5AM there is a loud wake-up call by the mosque. Was un-expected since bali is mostly hindu. I think the owner should inform guests about this. Also their dog simba is so aggressive when someone arrives by scooter, I was scared of the dog.

Good for a short stay

Okay value for money, location is out of the way so nice and quiet (besides the dogs barking occasionally, but property is pet friendly so expected). There's also a fridge so you can keep your drinks cold. Scooter rentals are available on site and are in good condition. Pool table on site also which we loved and played many games on. Hot water didn't work initially but the issue was resolved the same day. Good for a short stay.

Beds were very springy, not so comfortable. Kitchen was very dirty and we wouldn't want to use it to cook.

Thank you Ayu and Markus for being such great hosts - responsive and making you feel well taken care of. Ayumar homestay is a property that's simple, no-frills, but incredibly cosy (hard not to feel at home just after 1 night), and has a great sense of community! Lovely doggos and a family of orange cats as well :)

The place is lovely, clean and isolated but still close enough to town and surf break. Host is very friendly and helpful.

When the dogs were unattended they could be very agitated and loud. However, they are very friendly dogs. It’s hard to cool down the entire bungalow with the room air con.

A tropical getaway near the beach.

Ayu & Markus were great hosts. The bungalow was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. It was only a few minutes away from the beach but felt like you were staying in a tropical rainforest where you could still get great internet. I would recommend.

Cozy place and super friendly hosts

It's located about 5 minutes drive to the beach and tucked between the rice fields. Everything was perfect! I stayed in the private bungalows and it's just lovely. The AC worked great, and I loved the semi-open bathroom (with good water pressure and hot water). The common area is nice too, an open-air kitchen with everything you need to make breakfast and other meals. They have surf racks which are nice if you surf. The owners are just super friendly and helpful. I will go back here again next time I go to Medewi! I highly recommend this place.

Nothing really, if anything maybe the WiFi is not too strong/cut off in the room occasionally but it seems that they're placing an additional modem near the kitchen soon so I would imagine that helped.

Una pequeña casita con salón con smart TV y un sillón muy cómodo en planta baja y una cama y balcón en la parte de arriba. El baño con buena ducha fuerte. Un salón comunal con mesa de pool, juegos de mesa, cocina comunitaria. Un jardín con varios sitios donde descansar y pasar la tarde

Honestamente compartimos un comentario anterior. Nos encantan los perros, tenemos perro, pero no en la piscina.. No dan ganas de bañarte cuando la superficie del agua se ve llena de pelos, parece q te metieras en el estanque de las mascotas. Como crítica constructiva deberían poner una cerca alrededor de la piscina y con eso lo solucionarían. La habitación al entrar olía un poco a humedad y cerrado pero con un incienso y dejando un poco abierto lo solucionamos.

Un lieu paisible, un personnel gentil et des efforts faits pour corriger les petits couacs, malgré quelques maladresses.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le calme du lieu et le cadre en pleine campagne, très reposant. L’organisation du transfert avec un chauffeur Elizer (très sympa) a été pratique, même si un peu plus cher que les applis locales. La présence des chiens a ajouté une touche sympathique à l’ambiance. Nous avons aussi eu un petit souci avec le linge, mais après en avoir parlé avec Ayumar, cela a été reconnu et réglé avec un geste commercial (le linge était encore mouillé à la récupération, donc non facturé). Enfin, j’ai pu profiter d’un massage sur place, très agréable. Nous avons également pu bénéficier d’un enregistrement tardif merci pour la flexibilité.

Le personnel sur place ne parlait pas très bien anglais, ce qui a parfois rendu la communication un peu difficile. Concernant la location du scooter, nous avons été facturés pour trois jours alors que nous l’avons eu moins de 48 heures (de 16h le 2 au 14h le 4). À notre arrivée tardive le premier soir, aucune indication claire ne nous a été donnée sur la façon de le récupérer, ce qui a retardé l’utilisation. J’ai expliqué cela à Markus mais il a été intransigeant nous devions 3 jours car 3 jours d’utilisation (c’est la première fois à Bali que ça nous arrive). C’est un détail, mais un peu frustrant.

Ayumar Homestay Medewi est vraiment un petit havre de paix.. Tout à été pensé pour qu’on s’y sente bien. La piscine, le jardin, le coin cuisine avec un équipement pour pouvoir s’occuper (billard, jeux de fléchettes, frigo etc..) Les propriétaires sont vraiment adorables et s’organisent pour être disponibles si besoin. Il y a beaucoup de vie dans ce lieu. Vraiment bravo pour tout l’agencement du lieu qui est magnifique et on sent qu’il y a vraiment une belle âme et une belle atmosphère dans ce magnifique lieu.

Nous avons trouvé le lit très peu confortable.. De plus la couverture faisait vraiment couverture d’hiver pas très agréable pour dormir avec ces chaleurs… De plus concernant la salle de bain n’était pas très très entretenue.. Lunettes des toilettes assez mal fixées et pommeau de douche avec beaucoup de calcaire.. Néanmoins nous avions pris le logement le moins cher, nous n’avons pas d’idée comment sont tout les autres maisonnettes. L’endroit est vraiment superbes sûrement quelques petites choses à réajuster ☺️
