Santa Cruz Ocean View Villa

The house was beautifully located right on the water. Finding it and getting through the gate was a bit tricky, and the keys were not where they were supposed to be. But I called the host and things worked out. Everything was very comfortable, and it was quiet and peaceful. Just what we needed after our trans-Atlantic flight. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was nicely appointed for our needs. There was even a bottle of wine to welcome us! There was lots of nice artwork, as well. And, there were plenty of great restaurants not too far away. But nothing beats the beautiful views of the water from the living room!

It was not an issue for us, as we had a car, but I would say that this is not really a good place if you don't have a car. There is not much (if anything) within walking distance. We liked the quiet, and it is very safe as it is in a gated community. But it might be tough without a car. (That said, it's excellent if you DO have a car, as there is plenty of free parking!) Also, the lighting could be better in the bathrooms for makeup application.

The location of the property is great, we liked the lounge overlooking the sea, and the open-plan layout on the first floor. When we arrived the window of the dining room overlooking the courtyard was wide open, and it has been really difficult to close. We tried to use a chair in the dining room, and the leg of the chair completely came off. Ee noticed that all of the dining chairs were quite flimsy, so we decided not to use them at all. There is also the smell of dampness in the kitchen and in all the bedroom cupboards, so it was impossible to hang our clothes. Perhaps these issues have to be addressed. Apart from that, the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
