Charming Salema

Very spacious apartment, not cluttered with all necessities in quiet and safe area. Very responsive host. Walking distance to the beach and great eating spots.

Instant hot water heater requires some learning, but it’s not a problem at all.

We did not meet the host Natacha. We were looking for a quiet place near the west coast of Portugal and we found this apartment at the entrance of the town of Salema. Parking is spacious and freely available right under the house. At first glance, the overall reviews didn’t seem very high, but we noticed that over the years they have steadily improved, which made me realize that Natacha was paying more and more attention to managing the property — and indeed, that was exactly the case. For us, the priorities are always cleanliness and peace, and we found both here. The apartment, on the second floor without an elevator, is very spacious, clean, and in a strategic position to visit the beaches in the area. Inside, we found everything we needed, including olive oil, salt, vinegar, and coffee capsules for the espresso machine, which we really appreciated. The beds are comfortable, as is the sofa in the large living room. The coconut shower gel available in the two bathrooms added an exotic touch to our stay. The Wi-Fi works properly. Overall, a truly pleasant experience. We would be happy to return.

O alojamento dispõe de uma cozinha totalmente equipada (onde preparamos várias refeições), máquina de lavar roupa, máquina de café, torradeira, entre outros. É um espaço fresco e ligeiramente ventoso, mas com duas casas de banho amplas e confortáveis. Os quartos são espaçosos, e as camas são bastante generosas. Passámos uma semana fantástica e relaxante em família.

Embora esteja localizado a 700 metros da praia, as descidas e subidas podem ser um desafio para quem deseja deslocar-se a pé.

Large apartment clean. Good parking. Washing machine.

No kettle, very old place, appliances rusted. Hot water either burning or cold. Bed very uncomfortable. Mattress too small for bed frame made it hard to get in and out of bed. No broom to sweep floors, no fan or cooling so very hot, no tea or coffee facilities, had to buy own toilet paper as only one roll provided for six nights. Had difficulty finding and the person who was supposed to check us in phone went to voicemail lucky someone I asked knew her husband and rang him for us. Very little contact from owner. Would not recommend
