The Lost Trombone @ McBabe Retreat!!

This place was perfect for what we needed. Close to lots of food and grocers, not far from the highway. It was a great space for our family get together, and the kids had so much fun with the games and everything. It was clean and the neighborhood was quiet. I would definitely tell anyone looking for a place in the area to stay here.

Everything was wonderful. We had a great time. Everything was clean whenever we got here, and the amenities were excellent. We had a great time, and I'd definitely go back.

I have used VRBO properties many times as a gathering place for family trips. This one rated MUCH lower than most! No working front porch light made getting in after dark a struggle. No working overhead light in the Master bedroom meant using a phone flashlight to find all of our belongings when packing up. The shower in the Master did not drain well, which meant standing in water. Only 4 chairs and a very uncomfortable bench at the dining table meant that we could not all sit together. The bed in the Master bedroom was so tall you really needed a step stool to get into it (it is higher than my waist!). Good thing my husband and I practice yoga! Lots of supplies for babies and toys for kids, but no step stool, so the younger ones could reach the bathroom sink The MOST disappointing was the total lack of response from the owner to our numerous texts and emails! The blizzard on Dec. 25-26 meant that we had to delay our arrival by a day. We asked if we could extend our stay by a day. No response. We asked if we might receive a credit for the missed day. No response. I realize this was during the holidays, but not responding to ANY of our correspondence was very frustrating. Despite the location that was so close to my parent's home, we doubt we will use this property again.
