Great little place

A great place, we love Klung Muang Beach which is about 800m away, but a nice walk. Its a small place and perhaps a little more cramped outdoors than I envisaged. However it had everything you needed, including a microwave in the little kitchen area of the room. There was also a small common room, open 24 hrs that had toasters, microwave, and crockery. There was also tea and coffee. The room was a little dark, the walls are the dark concrete effect, but it was okay. For us, we were right near the 24hr common room which meant the light was on all night, so not great. I would recommend for a great location, clean rooms and helpful friendly staff.

If it wasn't for the AC...

Cute little hotel with only 6 rooms. Nicely decorated rooms with lots of space. Lots of storage and even a little kitchen with plates etc. The room was really clean (except AC) and the location is in a not very touristy part. Very close to the beach and generally a looot quieter than Ao Nang which was lovely.

Unfortunately, the AC desperately needed to be cleaned. There was a lot of dust and smell coming from the AC. As we only stayed one night is was managable but we were glad to leave as that smell and the air quality inside the room were terrible. The dust filter has to be cleaned! Also, the local mosque is very close so you'll be woken up at 5:30am.

Nice and peaceful

The man looking after the place was so nice and helpfull. He even hurried to clean our two rooms so we could check in early. The pool was great and there is only a 10 minute walk to a lovely beach. There is not much around the please but if you're looking for peace and quiet it's perfect.

The mosque which is just across the road had their early morning prayer which woke us up every day, it's not the hotel's fault but it was hard to sleep after it.

Lovely accommodation

The accommodation was modern, spacious and very clean with a lovely comfy bed. Outside is a small seating area with table and chairs and a peaceful oasis of lush plants . Lots of the apartments look directly out to the pool which is small and well cared for. There are places to eat/drink nearby . We liked Lon Chalet . They are dotted about and a short walk away. Beach 15 mins walk and nice.

JR place offers beautiful accommodation but the area is down a lane in a poor residential area and we were disturbed with early morning locals chatting loudly and revving bikes. On arrival the first thing you see is a glass sort of office which looks like it should function as the reception but has been taken over by the managers and a lot of personal clutter is visible. It is not a great first impression at all. I have to let you know that this area has a mosque behind and EVERY MORNING at 5 am and again at 5.30am a really loud call to prayer over a speaker blasts out. And again in the afternoon. It absolutely spoiled our sleep. This is a fair and true review of our experience but having said that we did enjoy our 4 night stay.

Peaceful Hotel

JR Place is a quiet hotel. You can enjoy your own Me time at the swimming pool. Walking distance to few local food stalls. Recommand to rent a botorbike from the shop just outside the hotel. You can go everywhere anytime you like. I had booked some of the day tour package from apps. JR Hotel is within their pick-up area.

The yard and the pool are like an oasis in the midst of a local neighbourhood. The beds were super comfy and the room was large. All staff were exceptional. Mr A kept rooms serviced and Mr Keng and Ms Ao were outstanding hosts. Having access to a kitchen that offers complimentary coffee and tea all day was a bonus. Restaurants and grocery store were a short walk away and the Klong Mueng beach was about a 15 minute walk.

Lovely guest house with a pool.

The room was so spacious. Comfortable bed. Lovely garden 🪴 and swimming pool. Also a porch with table outside of the room to sit. Beach is within short enjoyable walking distance about 8-10 minutes. The owner was so kind. Really enjoyed staying at JR place.

Small and quiet place for short staying near Klong Muang Beach.

Good location: not far from Klong Muang beach. Restaurants very closely. Shops also not far. Good place for staying 1-3 nights. Not small rooms, clean.

Can improve owners reaction. Sometimes they don't answer, or need wait for long time for answers: finally you can already make another decision, because you doesn't want wait till they response. Maybe they should more respect their guests. Or maybe they are busy with other things. But this is small issue. Hotel for 1-2 nights.

Wonderful! Beautiful modern design with such a great pool, we loved everything about it:) yes we heard roosters at night but we didnt mind it. Location was great, 10 min to the beautiful beach with restaurants. The owners were very nice and helpful. Thank you! We will come back next time :)

Very good

Short walk to beautiful Klong Muang Beach, some great restaurants in the area as well as other facilities like massage and convenience stores. Stay was lovely and the host was very helpful, The pool area is amazing and the option to cook your own meals in the shared kitchen space was a great idea for those that want to save money on food.

You will find it hard to catch a GRAB from this location, but only slightly better closer to Ao Nang beach. Taxi services in this area are a little Mafia-istic and I think that is what effects the number of GRAB services available

The location was super quiet and perfect for those who do not want to be in tourist place! It was our small paradise, we were surrounded by lot of plants in the middle of greens and we loved it! The pool was clean and we used it every single evening! The staff was amazing. They were very helpful! Owners were very kind and they try to do their best! Green oasis in a friendly local town

We loved the pool, often coming back after dinner for a late swim. The hosts are incredibly kind and helpful, with everything from organising taxis to bringing us a cake for my partner's birthday! Our room was large and clean with a nice shower and at the end of our 9 days we could have stayed for another week happily. Definitely worth renting a bike so that you can easily get to restaurants, the beaches, and into Ao Nang and Railay. We really liked the soft lighting behind the headboard, and the a/c worked well.

Just a note, bring earplugs for the night time mosque calls! Thank you Aom and Keng for a wonderful stay

everything was great, from the staff, super nice and attentive to the room. minimal and elegant, the bed was fantastic! Mr Keng and his wife was super attentive and even helped us to arrange transportation to Ao Nang when our stay finished

Superb

Cozy little hotel, only 7 units, all surrounding the gorgeous pool. Which was surrounded by beautiful jungle plants, trees and flowers. Clean, comfortable rooms with everything you need. Super nice staff. The hotel is tucked away in a nice, little neighborhood, just 10 minutes from everything. Beach, great restaurants, massage, groceries, etc. We had such a great stay, we extended for 8 nights total!

Hidden jem

Fantastic owner and staff make this little place a great little retreat. Great value for money if you're trying to travel on a budget. Good pool for a quick dip. Good location for nearby beach. If you order breakfast it's bought to your room by a couple of locals, it's a bit basic but convenient! A couple of the local cats make it feel very homely. Small and friendly.

Beds are on the firm side, personal preference I guess but just mentioning it if you're used to a soft matress.

The owners are a really nice couple, keen to make your stay as nice as possible. The rooms are great, we were in a poolside room (think all of them are poolside as its quite boutiquey), they change your towels and give you new water and the pool was lovely. Can't fault it, thanks so much!

Exceptional

Mr. Keng and especially his lovely wife are simply the nicest people you have ever met. Our stay at JR PLACE felt like visiting grandma, so warm and welcoming. The place is super clean, well taken care of and nothing is problem. Absolutely perfect service. Clean and very nice pool. We recommend street food "The best" on the way to the beach. We got addicted to their food and smoothies. Everything you need, like supermarket, restaurants, massage etc) is just couple steps away.

The location seems a little shabby at the beginning, but don't let it scare you away! It's simply where the locals live, no shiny tourist resort. But that makes it really cool. You see the locals who greet you nicely every morning :) But don't forget earplugs. There is mosque which wakes you (and the roosters) up at 5 am 😂
