In the commune of Tour in Sologne, charming gîte du Montillon welcomes you on a 1500m2 fully enclosed wooded plot, in a quiet and secluded location, on the edge of the forest surrounded by meadows.

Close to the market town of Bracieux, with all shops and sports activities.
10 mins from Chambord park, Villesavin castle, 15 mins from Cheverny, 40 mins from Beauval zoo and Lamotte-Beuvron.

180 km from Paris

The cottage is ideal for hosting from 2 to 8 people.

On the ground floor, we provide you with:

  - A living room with fireplace, 2 sofas, TV and DVD player.

Absolutely lovely house. Clean and organized with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Communication was extremely good and prompt. The location is remote but very close to groceries and a wonderful base for area attractions. Check in was easy and checkout as well. Very quiet and relaxing and added bonus was the deer! Really enjoyed the stay and we highly recommend.

The house is BEAUTIFUL! It is located in the country surrounded by fields, trees and tranquility. The grounds are meticulously manicured. The swimming pool is a perfect way to spend late afternoon or early evening. The interior has so much charm and is beautifully decorated. There are many details and everything you need to enjoy your visit.

We stayed at this excellent cottage for one week with our older teenage daughters. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us and more than enough for 6-8 people. The property is beautifully renovated and everything is provided that you could want. Even a couple of bikes to pop to the boulangerie in the morning. The cottage has no neighbouring properties for several hundred meters, so you were not disturbed at all. The location is great for exploring the region and taking walks through the country. Chambord is only 10 mins away by car and is a must visit. The pool was excellent. Very clean and ideal temperature and we used it a lot to relax and unwind. I recommend this rental to anyone wanting to explore the region and recommend our hosts, Melanie and Pierre very highly who were very diligent and helpful to make sure everything was as it should be. Thank you from Ian Ferris and the family.

This property is the best we have rented! The house is in a very peaceful location down a lane. It is very comfortable and extremely well equipped for 2 families, each family can be seperate in the upstairs or downstairs bedrooms with a large bathroom each. The bedrooms are very comfortable, they are large with good mattresses and linen, we slept very well as it was so quiet. The kitchen and living areas are very spacious for dining and sitting together. The interior decoration is really charming, we loved all the baskets, there is a lady making them at Bracieux market. The pool is wonderful, it's warm, well maintained with plenty of loungers and chairs. The garden is very spacious, with seating in many spots to enjoy the views, we saw a lot of birds and dear in the field the pool overlooks. Plenty of walks from the house into the countryside and it's a quick walk into town, we used the bikes provided too. Plenty to explore nearby with many chateaux and medieval towns. We enjoyed visiting places as far as Loches and Vendome as well as towns nearby, not to mention the numerous chateaux. Thank you Pierre and Melanie. We really enjoyed our stay at Le Montillon!

We had a lovely week with the family at Le Montillon. The house is nice, clean, well equipped and it has a pleasant garden with pool. Castles like Chambord and Cheverny are close by, just as Blois. Certainly worth a recommendation!

Stay here! This cottage is beautiful inside and out. There are not enough glorious adjectives to describe. The property has everything you need and more. It is well situated between Cheverny and Chambord. We did an afternoon trip to Amboise (within a hour drive). Great place to unwind after Paris. Seriously, stop looking and rent this place.

Our overall stay was great and we will definetly come back because we felt at home. We loved this little charming house in the countryside and only 10min from one of the most beautiful castle, Chambord. The house was located in the middle of the fields. The inside was very cosy and welcoming. The outdoor was a great area for our children to have fun and run around. The house was very well equipped for entertainment (board games, children books, wild♮e books, novels, children/ baby toys, bbq, outdoor games, bikes) and the kitchen was full of useful appliances. It felt like a home. The owners were lovely and very passionate about their region and nature. We enjoyed talking to them. During or stay, we went to visit several castles ( Cheverny, Blois, Chenonceaux,...), a sheep farm and the zoo at Beauval. We also shopped for groceries from the local market (on Sunday) where all the regional producers were present. We found amazing dairy products ( creme fraiche, cheese..), terrines, bread, honey.

The location is peaceful and relaxiing but close enough to a pleasant village to get groceries and supplies (a car is an absolute necessity)and within easy drives of many of the most well known chateaus The house and the garden are full of lovely little details (little metal birds in the flower beds, teddy bears in the bedroom, etc.) The kitchen is modern and well stocked and the living room is very comfortably. We would have loved to have time to stay for a few more days. It would have been helpful to have detailed instructions for the washer, stove, etc. in English. There are so many differences in applicances (esp. European vs US) that we would have been more comfortable with instructions in English. And a word of caution for people with any mobility issues - the staircase to the 2 upstairs bedrooms is challenging and there is no toilette upstairs.

This is a fantastic house, equipped with everything you can think of. It is located in the middle of picturesque fields and pastures, at the edge of the small town Bracieux, where you can get everything you need at the bakeries and the small supermarkets. The next larger supermarket is about 4 miles away. And it is smack in the middle of all the chateaux and old towns. The owners are super friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time at the house!

The cottage is spacious but at the same time cozy and perfectly kept. The location is ideal for visiting all of the chateaux in the area (some even by bicycle). The pool was not open yet because the weather was still too cold but we very much enjoyed the garden, bbq, pétanque and badminton…we will definitely return when it is warm enough to swim! The hosts were very welcoming and kind.

Melanie's house was perfect. Very near to the local village but far enough away to feel like you are really on holiday. The beds and towels were extremely comfortable, clean and new, like in a hotel!Melanie has thought of everything that you might need and the house is great for children with plenty of toys for outside and inside. A wonderful garden overlooking the beautiful surrounding fields. We had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you!

Merci pour ce week-end de Pâques où tout a été réuni pour un excellent séjour : propriétaire très sympathique, petite attention en arrivant, décoration de saison. Le gîte est situé dans la verdure, au calme. Nous avons pu profiter du salon de jardin et du barbecue, et les enfants on profité au maximum du jardin. Quelques lapins et biches sont même venus nous dire bonjour. On garde l'adresse !
