About this apartment rental
El Capuchin (aka White-Faced Monkey) is a 2-bedroom rental apartment and part of the Castillo de Amber villa. The entire villa is 4 levels, with the pool & BBQ area on the lowest level. El Capuchin (previously 'Jurate Suite') is on the second level down from the parking area, ideally situated between the entry and the pool area.
The apartment consists of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and sleeps 6 comfortably. The master bedroom is spacious, with a king bed, private bath, walk-in closet, ocean views and private balcony. The guest room has 2 single beds, a private bath, and ocean views. There is a complete, well-equipped kitchen with all major applainces, and also a great ocean-view covered balcony for dining. The pool is huge, with a decorative fountain, loungers, and pool area kitchen, complete with a BBQ grill.
The Castillo de Amber is very centrally located in Manuel Antonio, just a few minutes from the beach and national park. Nearby are numerous great restaurants, bars, shopping, and a bank. Included are: El Avion, Agua Azul, Barba Roja, Cafe Milagro, Emilio's and Lush. Public transportation passes nearby every 30 minutes for Quepos and the beach/national park.
The rental includes daily housekeeping, AC, wifi, cable, and concierge service.
There is also a 1-bedroom studio on the same level (El Perezoso) which can be included to the rental. Please inquire about last-minute discounts!

Casa del Amber and El Capuchin were perfect for our visit in Manuel Antonio. The location is very nice: If you want, you can walk to some shops and restaurants, and even the beach if you're willing to navigate curvy, hilly roads with no shoulders. Very convenient. Even better is the setting: You're basically in the forest. We had all 3 types of monkeys visit the "yard," and even come down to the pool, as well as toucan, iguanas, and lots of other things.The apartment was comfortable, particularly once AC kicked in (none in the kitchen), and clean -- great for a family of four. Each room is independently accessed from the veranda, which is where we ended up spending a lot of time anyway. It is an old building, but kept up very well. For us, this was part of the charm.Vanessa, the concierge for the property, was extremely communicative and helpful.Compared to some other rentals on our trip, this one was a little more expensive, but in the end, we felt worth it. Highly recommended.

This is an amazing oasis in the hills on route to Manuel Antonio National Park. We loved the villa and the incredible views of the ocean and small offshore islands. The pool was amazing and very refreshing after a long day of exploring. The master bedroom is very romantic and the huge balcony provides a great spot for dinners, reading books or relaxing to the sounds of birds and monkeys. The kitchen is also very well stocked. We would stay here again!

Overall an excellent stay at El Capuccin! The unit has a beautiful ocean view and the balcony was spacious with ample seating areas for relaxing. The overhead fans were very much appreciated!! The pool was perfect for a refreshing swim and there was enough shade to relax and read a book or have an afternoon nap!We were visited by capuccin and squirrel monkeys, 2 beautiful parrots spent early evenings in a tree just off the balcony, and howler monkeys were heard (but not seen)Restaurants and grocery shopping close by ( walking or by car) and a short drive to Manuel Antonio park.Beds were comfy, the unit was clean and well kept, staff we met were friendly and helpful.We would definitely recommend this rental!!
