Lovely except for the slug trails in the living room...
Lovely except for the slug trails in the living room...
August 2018: Well on first impressions this looked a lovely property and looked like it matched the great reviews. Unfortunately waking up to slug trails on the living floor every morning was a massive turn off. This is probably a damp issue caused with the recent rainfall after a significant period of dry weather. I do hope this is fixed quickly for the next residents as I couldn't really fault anything else. There was a power cut in the property which may need further investigation as it was only our cottage affected and we didn't even have all electrical items/sockets on at the same time. This issue was resolved very quickly by ringing the number on the front of the property. I could not see/find the fuse box in the dark as it was high above my head on the wall! This is a great location for a holiday and with your own private off street parking and an easy walk into Ambleside. It was also very quiet with it being set back off the road. If the weather wasn't raining I would have missed not having a little garden to sit in but there was room to sit out the front. Make sure you like the smell of dogs as this is clearly a dog-friendly cottage!
