This Mountain Getaway is located in the Heart of the Rockies and is available to rent as your Colorado Vacation Home. Located in the historic Alpine Townsite, this is the perfect place for that (get away from it all) vacation. If you want seclusion but close to activities, THIS IS IT!

4-wheeling, fishing at nearby streams and lakes, horseback riding, river rafting, and Mt. Princeton Hot Springs are just minutes away. In the winter enjoy snowmobiling, cross country skiing, downhill skiing and snowboarding at nearby Monarch Ski Area. Or just sit by the fire and enjoy the view!! (We are in the Mountains!! 4 wheel drive may be required in Winter Months.)

This house was pretty close to perfect for us. It is nestled in the trees, including beautiful aspens in just the right places. The views of the mountains were the best part and the design of the house maximized the perfect positions for viewing the mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed the multiple outdoor tables and chairs which allowed us to follow the sun during the day. We highly recommend taking in the night sky -- it is beyond description. Everyone commented on the well-stocked kitchen and I feel compelled to reaffirm this. Of the various houses during our trip, this house was the only one that had everything we needed. I enjoyed communicating directly with the owner rather than a management co. It is simply a different experience. It was a privilege to be able to stay here and we are grateful for the family's willingness to share their beautiful part of the world. Very highly recommended.

The view from the deck was beautiful with the mountains and forest. We had a deer regularly visit. We also saw a moose, rabbits, and chipmunks. The cabin was very roomy and easily accommodated all of us. There are neighbors, but you really can’t see them for all the trees. The road to the cabin was an easy drive. We did have an issue with the Wi-Fi, but the owners made it right. They were responsive which was appreciated. We would stay here again if we visit this area. The drive to St. Elmo was very close and Buena Vista was also fairly close. We rented Jeeps and drove up the mountains where we saw wildlife. This place worked great for our getaway!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin is spacious with the split levels, and two kitchens. Comfortable for people to spread out. The balcony is nice and big with plenty of seating and a great view. Very well stocked with the little extras you may need or had forgotten. Great communication from owners. Our second time in this beautiful home. We, along with son and d-i-l came at the height of Covid and loved it. This time we included 6 more family members including 6 year old great grand daughter. Had a fabulous time. Riding 4 wheeler and sxs directly out to mountain trails and seeing sights nearby. We'll difinately be back for a third visit!

We come to Colorado to raft and this cabin is by far the best we’ve stayed in. Everything we needed was provided, it was super clean and the beds were very comfortable. The owners did not skimp on anything. We had a big crew, my husband and myself, (2) 21 year olds, (2) 18 year olds and (1) 14 year old. We had plenty of room to relax and enjoy ourselves. We would definitely come back and recommend to everyone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very pleased with our experience. The house was very clean. Towels were still in the dryer from when the house was cleaned between guests, but that wasn't a big deal. Very nice place, easy to find, right near the ATV trails where we wanted to be. Would stay here again for sure!

Very spacious, very comfortable and a gorgeous setting. Kitchen is very well equipped and the dining room table was great for meals and games. We came to ride SxSs and sightsee the mountains and that we did. Beautiful breathtaking views happened each ride. Being able to ride to and from the house from the trails was a real plus. We never trailered one day of the six that we rode. We ate at a number of different places in Buena Vista, Salida, Frenchy’s at Tin Cup and were never disappointed. We enjoyed the Hot Springs and a meal at Mt. Princeton too. The house and it’s views from inside snd out are incredible. We loved the huge outside deck and spent a lot of time on it. The open two floor plan is nice and big and and allows plenty of room to spread out. The two refrigerators and a well stocked kitchen is very nice. There are lots of amenities and extras you don’t normally see in a vacation rental house. We had an awesome time with family and friends visiting, laughing, playing games, fixing meals, making memories and more. Thank you Mitchell & Michelle for sharing your beautiful home and your great communication and efforts to make our stay the best possible. We’ll be back ! The Mellor’s, Huber’s, Kauffman’s and Trojacek’s.

Family came from out of state to enjoy the Rocky Mountains. The cabin was more like a lodge. Great floor plan. Beautifully decorated. Everything we needed was stocked. Furnishings were beautiful knotty pine. The grounds were rustic with a huge deck that has awesome views of the mountains. It is off the main road and is very quiet. We are planning on go back to this mountain oasis soon. Would recommend this property to any family or larger group.

My family and I had a wedding to attend in the area, so we made it into a week long vacation. This house had everything we need to accommodate 9 adults. Plenty of bathrooms, plenty of bedrooms, in two separate gathering areas for socializing. We really enjoyed drinking coffee on the deck every morning looking at the mountains, and watching the birds! Will definitely consider renting this property again in the future!

This property is amazing! The house was not only gorgeous but was spotless when we got there. Many of us forgot some little things and thankfully they had it all there for us. The views from the deck in the morning were breathtaking. This will be the first place we check out the next time we plan a getaway in Colorado!

A fabulous mountain getaway with friends. Plenty of space to spread out, deck for cocktails and viewing scenery. Shopping, restaurants, and breweries nearby in Buena Vista, Poncha Springs, and Salida. We soaked in the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs (be there right away at opening or try again later in the afternoon, there was a long line in the morning). Thank you for a relaxing weekend away!
