We loved the property! It was very cozy, comfortable, and felt like home. Rita was an amazing host—so kind, welcoming, and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place!

The Canaveras unit is truly picturesque and atmospheric; it feels like a honey-colored, domed cave illuminated by beautiful ornate chandeliers. It is well-equipped with a kitchenette and a bathroom featuring a large, enclosed shower. The ground-floor access is incredibly convenient, and the host is wonderful—very kind, thoughtful, and communicative, even for non-Italian speakers.

While the aesthetic is fantastic, there are some functional shortcomings: Safety: The front door requires a key to open from the inside. This is a safety hazard, as you could be locked inside if you misplace your key. Maintenance/Humidity: The cave is naturally humid, so things do not dry, and there is no space to hang items outside. The stone ceiling also sheds occasionally. Design: The bathroom sink is too small and the mirror is too high for practical use. The kitchen has a better sink, but no mirror. Comfort: The space is quite cluttered with decor, and electrical outlets are difficult to reach. Additionally, some cigarette smoke from the street drifts into the unit.

Casa Rebecca is right where all the action in happening in Monopoli, you step out and all the streets are so lively. Restaurants, bars, coast everything is a mini stroll away. The place itself: Super clean, traditional style and the owners Rita and Vito have curated all the elements with passion. The vibe is quite cozy and the place has all that you’d need in a BnB. Much appreciation to both having accommodated late check in and early check out and hosting us like family. Would recommend this 10/10.

Beautifully restored Historic cellar . Tastefully decorated. Ideal location and very quiet.

Sofa bed provided when an actual bed would have been better. There is plenty of room for a proper bed. Lighting could have been better as it is a bit dark. Musty damp smell at the property . Understandable, as it is a cellar but the lack of natural light and dim interior lighting makes it all feel a bit claustrophobic. Owner prided herself on cleanliness and the property was very clean however there was a mould build-up on one of the fridge door shelves that was well over 2 weeks old. Late check-in 5-5:30 and early check-out 10-10:30. Owner inflexible with leaving bags in property before check in and after check out. As we were moving properties and only staying there for 1 night it would have been helpful to be able to leave our bags at the property before checking in as we had to baby sit them for most of the day until checked in. We were offered an earlier checkin time of 15:30 but luckily I discovered that there was a bag depository 100 metres from property.That information would have been useful from the property owner but they may not have known this.
