Love to vacation in the heart of a place? You’ve found “home” at Carmel by the Sea, a spacious, light-filled 3-bedroom, 2-bath home in the heart of downtown Manzanita.
Walk to the beach, coffee, locally owned boutiques, galleries and restaurants, then come home to two private balconies—one with ocean views—and plenty of room to relax.
Carmel by the Sea occupies the entire upper level of a two-story building and has its own private entrance, with no shared interior spaces. The ground floor is home to a quaint, community-oriented art space with a completely separate entrance. The building is well sound-insulated, providing privacy between the two spaces.
LIVING & DINING
The bright, open living area offers plenty of room to relax together, with comfortable seating, a Smart TV and easy flow into the dining area and kitchen.
The dining table seats six, while the well-equipped kitchen has plenty of space for cooking and gathering when you’re not taking advantage of Manzanita’s restaurants just outside your door.
Small appliances include a drip coffee maker, espresso machine, toaster, blender, waffle maker, hand mixer, rice maker and slow cooker.
A second private balcony is accessed from the living area and includes a gas BBQ for easy meals at home.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
– Primary bedroom: King bed with fine linens, en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, double closets with custom storage, and direct access to the ocean-view balcony
– Second king bedroom: Pillow-top king bed, Smart TV, writing desk and direct access to the ocean-view balcony
– Third bedroom: Queen bed, tucked away at the opposite end of the home
– Second full bathroom serves the queen bedroom and main living area
All three bedrooms include robes and convenient bedside charging.
Both king bedrooms open directly onto the front balcony, where you can look down Laneda Avenue toward the ocean.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests have private access to the entire upper-level home, both balconies and the private 2-car garage.
You’ll enter through your own private ground-floor entrance and take one flight of stairs to the home above. There are no shared interior spaces.
Convenient self check-in is provided via electronic keypad. You’ll receive your unique access code prior to arrival.
EXPLORE MANZANITA
One of the pleasures of staying at Carmel by the Sea is being able to leave the car behind. Browse Manzanita’s boutiques and galleries, walk to coffee or dinner, or head straight down the street to the wide sandy beach.
Beyond town, explore the surrounding Oregon Coast, hike nearby trails or spend an afternoon kayaking or paddleboarding on Nehalem Bay.
At the end of the day, come home and settle onto the ocean-view balcony as the sun goes down.

There is a reason this wonderful vacation home has all 5 Star reviews! The home is about one block from the beach and right on the quaint and quiet main street of Manzanita. And it has a great balcony to sit outside and watch the world go by. The entire home has very high end and beautiful decor, the two king bedrooms were large with great views, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with everything you could ever need. There is a 3rd bedroom with a queen bed, but we didn't use that room. Danna was the most helpful and thoughtful host we have ever met and she called me within 30 seconds when I couldn't get the door code to work. Now that's service! We look forward to renting this home again and again, and will recommend it to all of our friends. 10 Stars!

Without a doubt, this is the best vacation rental we have ever used. (And that’s saying something as we are frequent travelers). The home is extremely well equipped with everything you might need, especially in the kitchen. The owners obviously cook, because the pots and pans are high quality, the knives are sharp, the pantry is well stocked and there are plenty of towels. The lighting was great, and it was fun to look out over the town with balconies and large windows throughout. The condo was spotless, towels and linens bright white (and 100% cotton!!!) The furniture was comfortable, and so are the beds. My one complaint would be to add cushions to the dining room chairs, they were kind of hard. Otherwise, the decor is beautifully done, but not so prevalent that it gets in the way of activities. We enjoyed flipping through all of the coffee table books. We loved being so close to the beach, but also right in town. Need milk? It’s less than a block away! The Mexican restaurant next door was great, and so was the bakery. Sadly the pizza place was closed during our stay, but we will definitely be back. Selfishly, we don’t want anyone else to know about this gem, so that’s it’s always available for our use, but that would be unkind to other travelers! If you’re heading to Manzanita, this is the place you’ll want to stay.
