I proprietari sono stati davvero accoglienti. La Sig.ra non parlava inglese (per accordi sentivamo il figlio simpaticissimo che invece lo parlava) ma ci ha donato uva, miele e dolcetti, compresa una deliziosa marmellata fatta in casa da lei. L' appartamento è ampio e dotato di tutto ciò che serve. Avevamo con noi un cagnolino che poteva tranquillamente scorrazzare nel terrazzo che affacciava sulla campagna della Messara (luogo molto tranquillo, ma vicino ai luoghi più turistici) e la notte, ci permetteva di goderci la cena (se non andavamo per trattorie) sotto un cielo stellato meraviglioso. Dall' alloggio abbiamo raggiunto facilmente e velocemente tutte le località del sud (Sivas,Matala, Kommos e altre e gli scavi archeologici di Festos, Haghia Triada e Gortina e anche a Nord la stessa Heraklion e Cnosso (a un' oretta di macchina). È stato un perfetto soggiorno che consigliamo a chi ama la quiete della campagna senza però rinunciare al mare, alla storia e preistoria e ai locali più vivaci e cretesi della zona. An ideal place for those who do not like resorts and commercial leisure. Nice hostess. Beautiful house, superbly equipped. Great table in the kitchen. From the three balconies a wonderful view of the mountains and olive groves. Twice a day sheep parade in front of the windows. In the morning we were woken up by roosters, sheep, guinea fowl, which was lovely. There are taverns and a shop in the nearby village. The sandy and almost empty beach in Komos is 6 km away. This is our sixth stay in Crete and one of the better hotels.

Good location, wonderful views from two terraces. Well equipped kitchen and spacious lounge. Very generous host who gave figs, grapes, pears, a big jar of local honey and a bottle of Raki! We loved sitting out on the terrace in the morning and evening with just the sound of sheep and goat bells. It was just a short walk into the village where there are a couple of good restaurants and an excellent butcher and a small, but well-stocked mini-market.

The parking was a bit awkward, so we just parked at street level and walked up to the house. There was no microwave oven. This would have been handy as we did quite a bit of cooking.
