La casa era accogliente, pulita, ben riscaldata, con una vista molto bella e un caminetto che abbiamo apprezzato tanto.
Il letto nella grotta era un po’ scomodo e traballante, e la posizione è un po’ scomoda da raggiungere, anche se normale per il borgo.

Traditional property. Location in the heart of a hill top village, with great view from our door. Village felt very friendly and relaxed. Local activities available including walking across valley to another beautiful hilltop village and Via Ferrate.
Walk from the car up/ down steps with cases, but no more than 10 minutes and more than compensated by the location. Would definitely choose this property again.

View from the door was amazing, you are above the town with a view across the whole valley, easy to get to from the top parking, very unique decoration in the property- literally like staying in a time forgotten museum, how they used to live in the town of Castelmezzano a hundred years ago. I loved the information given by the owner, the video of how to find the property was so useful and we would not have found it without this. We didn’t use the cooking facilities but it looked pretty well stocked with pans and equipment.
There are so many places within a 5 minute radius to eat that we are out for every meal.
It’s like a hundred year old museum. Very unique but not the most practical or for every bodies taste. The space is one open space so not much privacy, if you don’t know your group well before your stay, you will afterwards! You need to use the dehumidifier available at the property because the apartment is a bit musty and damp. There are also 60 steps to get back up to the property- if you are visiting Castelmezzano and aren’t able to walk, then this might not be the apartment for you but we loved the challenge and built billet proof calves during our stay

A totally unique place. Clear instructions for reaching the accommodation and self check-in, a view beyond description and a quite extraordinary apartment, quite unlike anything I've experienced before. Like turning back time, sleeping in a stone-flagged room which was gloriously cool despite warm August temperatures outside.
Please note that to get here you do need to do some walking up steps, so pack light and don't wear sandals. You will not be able to drive up to the front door!
I loved the experience: don't expect a bland, sterile modern property, because it isn't!
