We’ve stayed at many of these huts with hot tubs and Gillian’s place is right up there, in fact this hot tub was the best we’ve used. It’s dead easy to operate and holds the heat very well, even overnight. The other facilities were really nice and we really enjoyed our stay. The only thing that could have improved our stay would have been some joining instructions about how to open the automatic entry gate and where to leave the key when we left. Other than that, we had a fabulous time. Cheers. Mike and Sarah.

Really lovely, relaxing place, fantastic hosts. One improvement could be specific guide for each area, i.e how to use sauna etc… some areas we found slightly harder to use - but nothing that we couldn’t work out! All amazing!

Lovely place. Reception was warm and welcoming. Loads of wood for the log burner and hot tub - I've been to some places where it is restricted and charged extra, so this was very refreshing. Very comfortable little Shepard's hut. Very nice pub/restaurant within a few minutes walk. There is so much to do locally too, I wish we'd had longer to explore. Thank you for a lovely stay ☺️

The shepherd hut was okay from the outside. Inside was a bit grubby cobwebs in windows and floors bitty, not swept underneath anything someone’s breakfast under table. Had to wash all crockery and glasses they had juice leftover in them. Hot tub was great.

Fabulous property in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside with great owners. Mulled gin in the hot tub with the stars twinkling overhead and your breath condensing as you relaxed was perhaps the highlight of many memorable moments. Recommended it to loads of friends who have asked about it. Looking at the barn in the New Year!!

Everything was fantastic from the minute we arrived for a 3 night stay. Location, hosts, property, and accommodation were all exactly as described. We would not hesitate to recommend staying here. The General Tarleton pub round the corner also had exceptional service and food. We will definitely be booking again!

If you want a quite break , this is for you, the farm is in a village where there is no shops only a pub that doesn't open on a Monday and Tuesday. If the weather is bad there is basically nothing to do. Will not be returning.

We stayed here for 2 nights for my partners 30th. It was so peaceful! Waking up to the cows in the field with a morning cuppa was just bliss! Then jumping in the hot tub to top it off. The place has really good facilities and the accommodation was clean and had everything you need. Great stay! Thank you!

Everything about our stay was exceptional. The place was very easy to find and the host Gillian met us at the gate and gave us all the information we needed for our stay. The hut was very clean and well presented they have really thought about the little things like dressing gowns, plenty of towels, tea, coffee and biscuits. The wood fired hot tub is superb and so much nicer than the electric ones, easy to get going and has a cover over so you can even enjoy in the rain. Harrogate is only a 20 minute drive away and the village of Knaresborough is a 5 minute drive with lots of lovely little shops and places to eat. We will definitely be returning in the future

Enjoyed our stay was disappointed they have stopped doing the breakfast basket that was a lovely touch. Didn’t get any free wine either. We still had a nice time jst missing those special touches. We had to go into town for some shopping when we got there. It is lovely and was relaxing.

Something entirely different for us We are devout mini breakers with lots of great stays in the bag. Always looking to go to unvisited locations especially in our country as we also love to visit other countries. In some ways the pandemic is limiting but in other ways it opens up more possibilities. When looking for a couple of nights away during spring annual leave I came across this staycation. Having never used a hot tub this is what drew me in . Both of us were really looking forward to the experience and were not disappointed. The accommodation and the other facilities were also brilliant. We were able to spend quality time at the shepherds hut but also take advantage of visiting the beautiful local area Harrogate and Knaresborough both gorgeous in different ways. The host was down to earth and explained everything with a pragmatic approach and was non intrusive throughout the stay . We had the advantage however of being reassured she was only a phone.call away . All in all the stay exceeded expectations an idyllic location offering relaxation with the added advantage of venturing out as and when required .

The owner is very thoughtful as they've provided so many things. Convenient distance, yet felt like I was in another planet. Loved the atmosphere and all the small details that matches a country-side life. Safe, cosy, quiet and beautiful. The sauna barrel and the hot tub (we can change the light colours ) were so relaxing and warm. The bread was delicious. Loved everything ! My other friends stayed in the RV and we will definitely come back. Thank you x

We had a great time here, perfect for a relaxing weekend. The hut had everything you could possibly need and the breakfast hamper/Prosecco/dressing gowns made it extra special. The location is fab, quiet in the countryside but also close to knaresborough and Harrogate. The hot tub was so fun and we loved sitting watching the cows in the morning! Even though it was cold we were still able to enjoy the outside area because of the fire pit. Will definitely come again :)

This place is amazing! Word burning hot tub, out of this world, Shepherds hut coziest place ever, swimming pool, private and perfect. Would of loved to try the games room but had no more time as the surrounding places to visit are just beautiful. We lived watching the calf bounce around the field, there's no worry about running out of wood, extra touches, dressing gowns, towels, breakfast hamper and fizz made our stay just perfect! I will without a doubt be visiting again

fab stay in the Herdwick shepherds hut. Hot tub is brilliant added touches of breakfast hamper and fizz make things more special. Robes and towels for hotbtub provided too. Fantastic location peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely book again.

Absolutely cant recommend this place enough. A little hidden gem. I stayed for 3 days in one of The Shepard's huts. Lovely welcome and information about all Facilities available to use. The hut was clean and had amazing facilities and all the little extra touches of a breakfast bottle of wine dressing gowns. The setting is beautiful and peaceful over looking The countryside and the location is such a good base to travel from. We spent a day in whitby harrogate and visited mother shiptons cave. Will defiantly be back and recommending to my family and friends😊�. Thankyou for a lovely stay
