About this apartment rental

The Bica Attic is a bright, sunny apartment in Lisbon District São Paulo. It meets all the conditions that can be put to amenities and comforts of a modern home. And, differently than you might expect from an attic, it is very pleasant temperature thanks to a completely overhauled roof insulation. The apartment is located in the heart of Lisbon, "Bica", a historic district on the southern slopes of Lisbon towards Tejo. She is ideally suited for 1 or 2 couples, but is also well equipped child-friendly (2 double beds, 1 Snap-bed, cot available).

Bica is a picturesque district in the half of the roads are stairs - so hilly it is here. Through the center, the Rua da Bica Duarte Belo cuts, on a ropes drawn tram, a "Elevador" Cais Sodré at the foot up to the Bairro Alto (above) runs. This Elevador operates since 1892 and is classified in the meantime, as a historical object.

In Bica you are virtually "in the midst". Up where Calhariz the party mile Bairro Alto Bica and Sao Paulo separates, one encounters a busy life. Also you will find there plenty of shopping opportunities for everything you need to live.
In Bica you are virtually "in the midst". Up where Calhariz the party mile Bairro Alto Bica and Sao Paulo separates, one encounters a busy life. Also you will find there plenty of shopping opportunities for everything you need to live. Turning to the other hand down, we come to Cais Sodre, the station of the "Linha de Cascais" that, a kind of light rail along the Tagus river goes to the flows in Cascais, the last stop in the open sea.
From the apartment is about 50m upwards until Calhariz. Then right down leads in 2 mins to Largo Camões and in another minute, across the square as early as Café Brasileira in Chiado. Camões (pronounced Kameusch) and Chiado are certainly two names that you should remember, because everyone knows them in Lisbon, and in addition, they are popular meeting places.
Always the legendary tram No 28 along the narrow streets of old Lisbon through to the parliament building in São Bento Turning to the Calhariz arrived but left, as you pass through. And who is there still adventurous and on foot, you can walk on to the cathedral in Estrela. A coffee or tea and one or the other piece "Pasteis" but definitely recommended.

We had a lovely stay at the Bica Attic. Our host met us to show us how to get in and where our key was and gave us a brief tour of the space. We loved having the balcony off the kitchen to sit and rest after a day of sightseeing, and the alcoves were lovely spots for morning light with views of the river. We ate our meals out, but the kitchen was stocked with plenty of glassware, dishes, and silverware. The water pressure in the bathroom was strong, and the hot water came in fast. Bonus for any taller visitors, the showerhead is nice and high! There is a washer in the kitchen and a drying line off the kitchen balcony. The bedroom without the skylight was a bit stuffy when all the doors were closed overnight, so do plan on keeping at least one cracked open to allow for air circulation. If you normally use a fluffy pillow, be aware that the provided pillows are quite flat. Overall the space was lovely - a nice cross-breeze with a couple of windows slightly open meant that we weren't too warm at any point, and the blankets on the beds were more than enough for the night temperatures.

We loved the location and space was wonderful. You can open all the windows and enjoy a sea breeze while you relax after wandering the hills of Lisbon. We were expecting some road noise based on reviews of the area, but it turned out to be very quiet. We didn’t use the kitchen but it was fully equipped if you want to cook for yourself. There also was a washing machine and clothes line if you need to wash any clothes. Really a great space and fully equipped.

Apartment was great. Spacious, full kitchen, washing machine, comfortable beds. Nice (tiny) view. Both Rosa and Malik were responsive. Only drawback was the noise at night. The street perpendicular to the one the apartment is on is quite a party street. Leaving the windows open at night was not an option. Luckily it was cool so we did not need to keep them open. I would however, hesitate to stay here when it’s warmer when a breeze would be necessary for comfort. Otherwise 5 stars across the board.

We really enjoyed meeting one of the friendly hosts and having him point out all the things we needed to know about in the unit. The unit is very roomy and comfortable. Staying there felt like living in a real home. We enjoyed having a small deck to be able to sit outside. The location of the unit is extremely close to tourist areas in every direction. There is a grocery store just 1 block away. Everything worked great... the hot water in the bathroom, the kitchen, the TV, the WiFi. The beds and pillows were a little flat but we got used to it. We would definitely stay hear again if we had the chance.
