The accommodation is of very high standards with everything you could possibly need. The homely touches made it a lovely place to spend time. The fantastic home made lemon drizzle cake and fresh milk for tea was really appreciated after our journey.

Beautiful luxury apartment, had everything you could need, including dressing gowns, comfy bed, parking. Lovely touches such as welcome cake, milk, chocolates. Host was super helpful.

Comfort and luxury near Cockermouth

The apartment was immaculate, comfortable and well equipped with everything one could need. I was very impressed with the high-quality fittings, character and overall standard of the apartment. Checking in was easy and the owner was very helpful. A welcome bonus were the milk and pastries left for us on arrival. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings.

The property was of a very high standard, from fixtures and fittings, to décor, to the very well equipped kitchen. We even had cookies and milk in the fridge.

Fabulous stay in a great location to access most of the lakes

Very comfortable, clean and accessible to all areas of the lakes. The apartment was loaded with everything you could think you might need and more. Lovely touch of a lemon drizzle cake and milk in the fridge for arrival.

Comfortable and relaxing apartment within easy reach of Lake District attractions

Host met us in the car park welcoming us with tips on places to eat out and visit . Useful information folder in the apartment . Excellent accomodation. EV charge point. Very comfortable bed. Fantastic shower . Pub across the road with good quality ..if large meals ! Tea/coffee/sugar provided plus a cake and milk in the fridge .

The apartment is elegantly decorated and the bed one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in (and I travel a lot). The kitchen is well equipped and easy to operate. Vanessa, the lovely hostess, even left me a gorgeous cake. If you don't want to cook there is the ship Inn a few minutes walk away.

The house is close to the road however there is good soundproofing when you get inside

Really excelente especially for the price, only good things to say, if you go you have to check out the train resteraunt a 10 minute drive away! (Literally a resteraunt in an old stream train!)

A cosy, comfortable stay with short journeys to many key Lake District locations

The location was ideal for many areas of the Lake District. It was easy to find, and very quiet despite being just off a main road. It was well stocked with amenities and Vanessa, the host, even baked us a cake. We found it very comfortable and cosy. The shower is excellent too.

Relaxing oasis in a busy life!

Wonderful return visit to Dovenby - beautifully appointed apartment, great standards, excellent host! Vanessa is welcoming, friendly and nothing is too much trouble, including baking a yummy cake for each booking. The externally repainted house itself is stunning too, a very welcoming sight coming down the hill. Just love this place!

Wonderful stay near Cockermouth

Beautifully appointed apartment. It had everything we needed for our break. It was spotlessly clean and Beautifully decorated and furnished. It was lovely and quiet and great to return to after long days out. Great to be able to park too. Delicious cakes were left in the fridge for us which we really enjoyed. Really easy to find and access. Nice to meet our host on arrival.

We had a fabulous time in a period building with all the home comforts.

This was a well appointed, comfortable and stylish apartment which was very local to family we were visiting. Very close to Cockemouth also, and short distance to the Solway Firth and Allonby beaches.

We cannot fault anything! :) Extra touches such as bathrobes and huge bath sheets were a bonus and luxury White Company toiletries were appreciated.

Finding this accommodation was providential and we shall return for a longer stay soon

This is self-catering accommodation, a priority for us as we enjoy the freedom and flexibility it affords. The location is most attractive and not far from Cockermouth centre. The pub over the road is very handy with good value basic home-cooked food.
