Tucked up in the trees in a quiet area, Hakala Hills Retreat is a great location for a relaxing stay. Located just a few miles out of downtown Traverse City, this place is close to everything. This lovely four-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin welcomes up to 10 guests and rents by the month.
The open-concept kitchen gives way to the dining and living room area and is a great place to cook, eat, watch TV, or snuggle up in front of the fireplace. There is one bedroom on the main level, one in the basement, and two upstairs. The deck off the living/dining area is set up for grilling and relaxing in a peaceful, wooded setting. In the yard, you will find a great sitting area around the fire pit.
This area is a quick drive west to the downtown area of Traverse City, heading north and east to Williamsburg, Elk Rapids, and beyond. Turtle Creek Casino is an easy trip from here. East Grand Traverse Bay and the state park are just minutes away, with several public beaches to choose from. There are plenty of food options nearby, as well as shopping and much more! The home is just seven miles from the summer time Great Lakes Equestrian Festival.

Family was up from Florida to visit property they have in Kalkaska. Wanted time together that did not involve the crowds, or small hotel rooms. This place was awesome!! It had everything we needed to cook the meals that we had planned. (Minus the food) We loved the fire pit at night. The layout of the main living space was perfect for cooking and visiting. Beds were comfy and the whole place was very clean. We plan to come back to this same location in the near future!!!

Moderate It was very cold when we arrived. There is no fence or steps at the right side of the deck which id=s more than 2 ft. Above ground. The steps up to the front door have a part of the building jutting out almost half way across narrow steps. The pots and pan cupboards were junked anyhow. And there was no shortage of dust. Even the only key had a key ring that simply fell off
