Sumberkima Resort

Stunning villa with large plunge pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very close for amazing snorkelling at Menjangan Island.

The large power lines applied the view a little but can’t be helped.

The resort opened in 2023 and currently has only a limited number of rooms, with more being added. There is some construction work for the new rooms and a few new hotels in the surrounding area, but we found the noise to be very limited and it did not bother us. Despite being a relatively new resort, the level of service is already excellent. We stayed in Anggrek Villa 2, close to the reception area. The Anggrek villas feature a large bedroom with a dressing area, a beautiful outdoor bathroom, a separate living room with a kitchen area, and a beautiful private garden with a swimming pool. In fact, we found the villa even more beautiful in person than the photos on the website suggest. The Anggrek villas also offer a great deal of privacy. The central building houses a very good restaurant on the upper level. Depending on the weather, you can enjoy spectacular sunsets, with the sun disappearing behind the volcanoes of Java. Breakfast is à la carte and can be enjoyed either in the restaurant or in your own room, at no additional cost. We didn't try the floating breakfast option because our pool was a little too cold in the morning! A special thanks to Bodi for his excellent service. The resort also has two beautiful, modern rooms dedicated to spa treatments. Treatments need to be booked at least one hour in advance. We particularly recommend the massages offered by Fitri. Keep in mind that the resort is some distance from the main road and the beach area. In many countries, hotels take advantage of this by charging a premium for food, drinks, transportation and other services. Thankfully, that is not the case at Sumberkima Resort — and, from our experience, this seems to be quite common in Bali. The prices for the restaurant, in-room bar, laundry and transportation provided by the hotel are all very reasonable.

We stayed in Anggrek Villa 2 which is right next to the main building. This means that you can hear some background noise, such as soft music from the restaurant or conversations around reception. This is mainly noticeable in the garden and living room. The bedroom was perfectly quiet, and you will probably have the air conditioning running there anyway. It wasn't a problem for us, but if you are particularly sensitive to noise, you might want to consider one of the Bukit Barat rooms. These are located a little further away and also offer an ocean view rather than a mountain view. There is a high-voltage power line running right next to the resort, which unfortunately detracts slightly from the otherwise beautiful views. If you are particularly concerned about electromagnetic fields, this may be something to take into consideration when choosing your accommodation.

Fantastic view, location, service and food. Love the pools and the comfy beds. The staff is super gentle and friendly. Come yourself and enjoy!
