Nusretbey Hotel

We stayed 3 nights, everything was perfect. The staff are amazing and helpful. The location is the best, near to everything. The room was a bit small, if you want to book take the big one .

Nusretbey Hotel has a perfect location within walking distance of the Sirkeci Metro and the Sirkeci tram stop. Another positive is that is also a very clean hotel. The cleaning lady does a great job. The lady who cooks breakfast every morning does a terrific job as well. The reason I wouldn't recommend the hotel though is the front desk clerk who works there in the morning is not suited for hospitality work. Let me set the scene. The hotel refuses to provide instant coffee in the room with the front desk clerk saying, 'you shouuld drink the tea provided.' Hey, I'm a Westerner. I need my coffee in the morning. I'm also the customer. My request is not outlandish. When he didn't show any interest in my suggestion of putting two sleeves of instant coffee in every room each day, I had coffee from the machine in the front lobby. I could feel his resentment across the room. The next day he made sure the machine was shut off so I couldn't have any. ''Your only allowed to have coffee from that machine at breakfast!'' he lectured. Mind you, I was spending about *** with the hotel over eight days. Had I been in his position, I would have found a way to get to yes with the customer. Just charge people for a cup of coffee if you aren't going to make coffee available in the room. That's certainly understandably. Instead, what I experienced every time I came in the front door was an attitude of 'if looks could kill, I'd be dead.' This man ruins the whole mood of the hotel. Lastly, the blow dryer provided in the bathroom didn't work and access to the rooftop terrace with a beautiful view of the Bosphorus is not available. The door is locked so that no customers can experience it. You can do better in the same neighborhood. There are lots of choices to choose from. I would choose a different hotel.
