Summer or winter, this lake house has you sorted. Stay cool under the air-conditioning or enjoy some fresh air but keep out of the sun under the sheltered verandah. In winter, light a fireplace or turn on the heat pump, your choice to keep toasty warm!
The open-plan living area creates an easy-going atmosphere iconic to Lake Taupo. Furnished with all the essentials including a BBQ for cooking up your fresh catch. At the end of a busy day bring your family or group together to relax. Parehopu Lake House is a great spot to awaken the senses and enjoy the wonderful beauty of the outdoors.
The edge of Lake Taupo is just 100m walk with no road to cross, ideal for launching the kayak or a bit fishing. Enjoy the bush and lakeside walks, swimming, tennis, boating or fishing. The local store and coffee stop are a short 5-minute drive. Kuratau also has 2 vineyards nearby that offer wine tasting over summer. And in winter, an hours drive will have you skiing on Mt Ruapehu. Enjoy a soak in the Tokaanu hot pools on the way back from a day on the slopes!

This place would have been great in summer. Unfortunately as we visited in the middle of winter it was a bit chilly. Also not many facilities nearby as most closed for the winter. Had hoped to rent a kayak/ canoe and go on the lake. Oh well, wouldn’t stop me returning in the summer.
