Enjoy apres-ski solitude or social life in this recently redone, well-worn, 19th century, 3-level, 12-room Federal-style house on 8 wooded acres located in a quiet side street of Shelburne Falls. With high speed Internet and its well-equipped kitchen and communal dining indoors and out, the house is ideal for family, friends, celebrations and retreats. The house is within easy walking distance of the renown Bridge of Flowers and glacial potholes and many shops. A stone's throw to Berkshire East, in summer, it is ideal for river swims and sports, while offering gorgeous all-level hikes and foliage views. Outings can be enhanced by our guided forest walks, perfect for finding the road back to yourself. AC in main room, and 3 upstairs bedrooms, others have fans. The home provided the perfect setting and space for us to come together as a family and have a great dinner and breakfast together. The host was very responsive and accommodating with all of my questions along the way.

We had a sort of family reunion. Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins from 7 to 70. We filled all seven bedrooms, fixed and ate all our meals there, and had a great time. Everything was comfy and worked well. If I was forced to say something negative, I would just say there are a lot of narrow, steep stairs that could be a concern for those with mobility issues.

We knew this was an older three story house but it is not for older folks. Stairs were steep. Two bathrooms had showers in claw foot tubs so everyone used the walk-in shower on the 3rd floor. The weather was hot and humid while we were there so the one air conditioner (in the kitchen area) struggled to keep the room cool. It was hard to sleep in hot bedrooms, even with fans. We were not aware there were active train tracks nearby so were surprised by all the trains we heard. The back yard was pleasant and the home was within easy walking distance to town. Neighbors were friendly.
