Very quiet and relaxing just what we needed as a busy sports family. We just needed some shut down and RnR

Mattress was a little uncomfortable in one of the double beds but that could just be me 🙈 and no rack in the oven but we made do as everything else was great.

The location is stunning. So much safe space outside for children to play, with a most beautiful view over the lake. A short drive gets you to shops and areas of interest/ activities to do. Someone was kind enough to give us lakeside access for the duration of our stay. The bedrooms are very spacious and it feels like there are more beds than advertised. There was a fire pit outside that we got great use from. The sofas were comfortable, there was wifi in the big house.

It was quite run down- some things didn’t work or needed some maintenance. The house could have benefited from a clear out - in the big house we were staying in there were two fridges and a dishwasher that didn’t work. The taps on the bath didn’t work, back door was very difficult to close, one of the bathroom lights needed fixed, decking outside was rotting in areas. We affectionately described it as ‘rustic charm’ but really you would need to be ok with some things not being ok. The cleaning wasn’t completed to a high standard- floors and surfaces were clean, fridges were clean, bedding and towels were clean, but some plates in the cupboard, skirting etc weren’t. We found some rubbish left behind by previous guests beside/behind some furniture.

Location was great, quiet and beautiful with a lake to the rear of the property.

Some signs of wear and tear, a few dead flies lying around, (quickly fixed with a wipe)
