The barn itself was spacious, modern and clean. It really did feel homely and comfortable. The kitchen itself was well equipped with everything you could need. The location was pretty central to all the places you’d want to go with most places within a 30 minute drive or 1hr tops for places like St Ives.

The biggest let down unfortunately and one of the main reasons we booked this barn was the hot tub. This is a wood fired heated hot tub where you are expected to not only fill it when you arrive but constantly keep it warm if you want to use it. We were at this for 3 days before we gave up on it. Firstly make sure the valve is closed as we were filing it up for over 3 hrs only to find out the following day the valve was left open from whoever stopped previously so all our water drained out. Then once we sorted this heating it up is a nightmare, we used 3 full bags of logs and 2 bags of kindling and it still didn’t warm up enough to get in and feel comfortable. If we had read the reviews beforehand about the hot tub we most likely wouldn’t have chosen this barn. Personally this needs replacing to a more traditional electric hot tub. Aside from this because it’s is wooden it doesn’t feel the cleanest and the slug and droppings we found proved this. Theres not TV in 2 out of the 3 bedrooms which isn’t a massive problem but would be an added benefit. The outside seating area could also do with a bit of an update as the table and chairs around the fire pit have seen better days and the metal table and chairs outside the front door are are rusted and tired looking. The last bit to note is it appears there is a wasp issue with the barn as we must have killed at least 10 wasps during the week which put my wife and daughter on edge a little.

Lovely barn, modern, plenty of room but cosy feel at the same time. Clean and well equipped. Great location. Unfortunately the weather was too wild for us to make use of the hot tub but we would definitely return in a warmer time of year!

For a two night stay, there wasn’t enough toilet paper in the property, and there were also no dishwasher tablets (and we didn’t want to buy a whole box for just a couple of washes). But this is nit picking really!

Nice and clean, lots of facilities. Lovely large bedrooms with en-suite. Everything you need is there. Nice large garden area outside. Located central so you could get to north and south resorts/beaches within a short drive.

The hot tub was a bit of a marathon to get hot. 6 hrs of constant burning wood just to get it to a decent temperature. Was exhausted and stunk of smoke by the time it was ready. Also the main A road is nearby so there is a fair bit of traffic noise round the clock, didn’t spoil things though.
