About this house rental
Our home accommodates 8 guests with 2 bedrooms (2 queen, 1 full), a sleeper sofa and 2 full baths. The open floor plan and windows allow lake views from every room.
Directly on Clam Lake with 100ft of private shoreline and boat minutes to the crystal clear Torch Lake! Clam Lake is warm, calm and great for fishing, skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, etc. An expansive deck and dock offers lots of space for sunning & lounging!
Brand new sauna ready for guest use! Beautiful lake views while you steam. Take time to detox & renew.
Winter travelers will also love this spot! Short ride to tubing, skiing, snowshoeing, fat tire biking, snowmobiling etc.
At WAKE & LAKE Cottage you are directly on Clam Lake with 100 ft of private shoreline and minutes to the crystal clear beautiful Torch Lake! Travel the entire Chain of Lakes by boat (Lake Bellaire, Grass River, Clam Lake, Torch Lake, Lake Skegemog & Elk Lake) and keep your boat right on the dock for your stay. The boat slip can easily accommodate a large boat. Slip is about 10 ft wide, can accommodate 25ft boat with water depth from knee high to 4.5 ft at end of the dock. Note that we are not in a no wake zone.
An expansive deck and permanent dock offers lots of space for sunning & lounging! Grill a lovely meal to eat overlooking the water or have a drink on the loungers! In the evenings, cook smores over a campfire and watch the beautiful sunset on the water!
Clam Lake is warm, calm and great for fishing, skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, etc. We provide 2 kayaks for you to use & enjoy. Don't have a boat? Don't worry - You can rent various water toys from many businesses on Clam Lake or surrounding area (boats, jet skis, paddleboards, kayaks, etc.)!
Various nearby boat launches are available (Butch's and Public Clam Lake launch), the nearest being 1.5 miles away. The house is also conveniently located across from Dewitt Marine where you can pull your boat up to fill up on gas and purchase any cooler needs!
For cold weather season, this is the place for a cozy getaway. Our fireplace is gas and fired via remote for ease of use.
We will provide linens, towels and a starter kit of paper products. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, pots/pans and utensils. A Traeger and gas grill are located on the deck year round; charcoal grill available in warmer months. Updated washer and dryer are also available. We are equipped for kiddos with baby gates for the deck, pack & play, and toys available. In the summer, they can enjoy the sandy area near the water. Work from 'home' at our cottage surrounded by beautiful and rejuvenating views. Our mesh Wi-fi systems provides strong signal throughout the cottage and outside on the deck.
Enjoy all our recent upgrades! Interior: Washer/dryer new as of Dec 2020. Stove/oven new in 2021. Fireplace new in 2022. Exterior: Three stage deck 2021/2022. Seawall new in 2022. Lakeside landscaping, sandy area and firepit refresh 2024.
Check-in time is typically 4pm and check-out is at 11am.

- Glacial Hills (10 minutes) - Fat tire biking, groomed and ungroomed trails, etc.
- Shanty Creek & Schuss Mountain (15 minutes) - Alpine tubing, skiing, dogsled rides for children, snowshoeing, fat tire biking, snowmobiling
- Mt Mancelona - sledding, tours, backcountry trails

Summer rentals will be Sun-Sun, min of 7 nights. Few exceptions will be made for mid-week rentals only (no weekends), message for specific requests.

There were several small oversites when we arrived. I will address the owner directly, as not sure if this was due to our "later in the season rental"? Otherwise, I would have given it a 5-star review. House has a great layout with 2 Main suites on opposite ends of house, allowing for in home separation. Lake front was beautiful & used it in evenings to enjoy late afternoon sun & sunsets after long days of hiking in the area. Being later in season, boat traffic was @ a minimum. So very peaceful. I could see how nice it would be in summer with a boat too. Many outdoor activities nearby. We enjoyed the changing of colors throughout the area, as well as the multitude of lakes & rivers.

Wake and Lake was beautiful and we had an amazing time. Location, amenities, communication were all top notch. We will definitely book again the next time we visit the area.

Beautiful, well appointed lake home with a lovely water view. Great deck for sitting and enjoying a late afternoon drink as well as dinner. House has generous dining and seating arrangements. Owners were easy to work with and promptly answered any questions we had.
