About this house rental
The Magnolia House is considered by many to be the #1 luxury vacation rental in West Tennessee. This lovely, completely remodeled home is located in a quite, historic neighborhood overlooking the peaceful Overton Park. The setting is perfect for weekend get-aways, family reunions, vacations or just to relax and enjoy the wonderful amenities surrounding you, all within walking distance....people travel from all around to enjoy over 50 free concerts a year at the outdoor amphitheater, the Levitt Shell (where Elvis first played!), also the Memphis Zoo (ranked one of the top zoos in the United States) can be viewed from this home, the wonderful Brooks Art Museum (the largest art museum in Tennessee) is also within walking distance. The Park also offers a 9-Hole City Golf Course, entrance to the Shelby Farms Greenline for biking or walking(which is a 6.5 mile biking path and connects midtown to Shelby Farms Park), fantastic new playground and also a pond for watching ducks and fish. Do not forget your picnic basket, frisbee and a kite for a leisurely day outside!
The home is very secure with automatic gated entrance. Very safe neighborhood for walking and strolling to the Zoo, the Levitt Shell Amphitheater or the Brooks Art Museum. High speed internet is offered as well.
The newly renovated Overton Square is a few blocks away with some of the best restaurants in the City! German, Japanese, Mexican, Cajun, Italian food can all be found in this great area! We would love to recommend some of our favorites! Also, a great place to find nightlife...many bars with restaurants open late and even Lafayette's Music Room and The Zebra Lounge with a piano bar! If you are into theater, Playhouse on The Square, The new Hattiloo Theater and The Circuit Playhouse are located in this area. Also, in close proximity is the Cooper Young area, where there is another wide range of great restaurants. If you are a "foodie" or love visiting breweries, you will LOVE this area as well!
The Home is also very close to downtown where you will find the world famous Beale Street with much nightlife, Sun Studios, the well-known Peabody Hotel with their famous daily, duck parade, the Gibson Guitar Museum, the Fed-Ex Forum where many great concerts are held and the Memphis Grizzlies play, the Redbirds Baseball Stadium, and also the not to be missed newly opened Bass Pro Shop (largest Bass Pro in the United States and located in The Pyramid overlooking the great Mississippi River). One can not leave the City without sampling our world-famous barbecue. The Rendezvous and Central Barbecue are both very close!
The list goes on and on....so much to see and do in The City! This home, however, was remodeled and designed by an interior designer and is a wonderful place just to sit back, relax and enjoy its upscale amenities!

We loved staying in this beautiful home! The location is perfect. We walked every morning in the neighbor and in Overton Park, which is next door. The house was spotless and well maintained. My in-laws (both in their 80's) stayed with us and enjoyed their time visiting Memphis. We will definitely rent this property again! I'm pretty sure my mother-n-law would buy if it is ever for sale (:

Home exterior and interior is exactly as displayed and therefore no disappointments---just lovely, warm, super clean, and large well appointed yard for social and play. The owners main concern is delivering an exemplary stay for all guests and all the time--done. Thanks Elizabeth and Mike for the opportunity to use your space. We will be Back!!!

The Magnolia House is an immaculate home in a lovely Memphis neighborhood. The property is quite large with very comfortable indoor and spaces. Elizabeth and Mike are excellent hosts and make staying at the Magnolia House easy. Thank you for providing a very nice place to stay during our time in Memphis.

Pros: the house is located in a beautiful, safe, very quiet area right next to the zoo and the art museum. The neighborhood is beautiful, and safe. Very convenient for attractions, restaurants and more. The interior is cozy. If that's all you care, you can stop reading now. We enjoyed our stay overall.Cons: 1. In the year 2025, the wifi speed at this house is 20 years behind (hard to believe) at 3-4 mbps, extremely slow. You are better off using your cellphone hotspots.2. 1950s house- the host should provide better lighting in the kitchen, we brought lamps from bedrooms. 3. The friendly host should provide shower caddies (keeping shampoos on the floor!), hooks to hang clothes in the bedrooms, and electric outlet next to bed in the King bedroom.3. The driveway is too steep when you get into the main road. Every time we drove out or drove in, the bumper under the van grated (very annoying) against the driveway. Hope the host would fix these issues for future guests.
