About this villa rental
The most fantastic sunsets and panoramic views all year round, and just a few minutes drive to several of the most popular beaches on St. Thomas. Incredible sunsets to behold virtually every single evening!
With stunning views and plenty of space, Villa Alta Marea is the perfect vacation home for travelers looking to enjoy all that St. Thomas and the U.S. Virgin Islands has to offer. Situated on a cliff overlooking the water, Villa Alta Marea is located in the premier neighborhood of Deck Point and is within minutes of world-class dining, shopping, and beaches.
The main house includes five bedrooms and five baths while the private apartment suite below offers another bedroom and bathroom. Decorated in casual, tropical decor, Villa Alta Marea is a comfortable and spacious home away from home. The newly renovated kitchen features stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and a large center island.
As you enter through the main entrance on the main level, you are met with a spacious and open living room furnished with a comfortable sofa and a large flat-screen TV. The kitchen is located off to the right, along with a queen-sized bedroom. The lower master bedroom is to the left. The remaining three bedrooms of the main house are located upstairs.
The pool deck and covered patio are the real highlights of Villa Alta Marea, showcasing unbelievable sunsets and panoramic views. The infinity pool offers a refreshing place to cool off on a warm Caribbean day while the covered patio offers shade and comfort for outdoor dining and seating.
After spending the day relaxing, take a short taxi ride to Red Hook which offers wonderful options for shopping and nightlife. Charter a day sail or fishing trip leaving from American Yacht Harbor. Enjoy kayaking, parasailing, snorkeling, diving – even zip lining! Endless possibilities for outdoor enjoyment await you. We had a wonderful 2 weeks celebrating family and birthdays. It was so relaxing sitting on the deck watching the water and ships going by and beautiful sunsets. The property was clean and well maintained. There were nice amenities such as laundry detergent, paper products and the stack of beach towels was very handy. There was a blow dryer in every bathroom. It was also very helpful to have an extra fridge in the apartment below when we had a full house. We enjoyed many cocktail happy hours in the pool watching the view and sunsets. Property management was very quick to respond to any questions we had.

The property is situated in a lovely location (if you don’t mind lots is speed bumps). It was clean. The posted pictures make the downstairs look much larger than it actually is. The kitchen is well stocked and beds are decently comfortable.
However, the BIGGEST FLAW is the oversized sliding door/screen which open to the deck and swimming pool, from the family room. The door is damaged beyond repair. Management knows about it…has known about it for months. No one has done anything beyond suggesting WD40. It was extremely difficult to open the door. Even when we wanted the door open, but the screen closed to prevent bugs, it was almost impossible to budge it without picking it up off of the tracks. The difficulty of getting in and out of the house was both frustrating and annoying. Remember, in order to access the swimming pool from the house, going through these doors was the only way. Management placated me, but did nothing. Given the nightly cost of this house, I believe this was unacceptable.
So yes, the view was fabulous. But accessing the deck was way too physically difficult and dealing with Management bordered on infuriating.
