El Maset de Torredembarra

Zeer mooi huisje met alle benodigdheden en comfort. Airco in beide slaapkamers. Mooi terras waar elke ochtend een gevarieerd ontbijt geplaatst werd door de gastvrouw. Parkeren kon bij het huisje.

De aankomst zorgt voor wat twijfel. Een ietwat vreemde locatie naast de snelweg en daarbovenop zet het gastgezin zich in voor verwaarloosde dieren (wat trouwens zeer nobel is) waardoor je eerste indruk wat vreemd is. Je ziet namelijk enkel een poort en een heel groot opvangcentrum voor dieren. Het logeergedeelte is volledig afgescheiden van het opvangcentrum, dus eigenlijk is er geen probleem. Het is alleen wat schrikken bij aankomst.

La casita está en los terrenos de la protectora de animales que fundó su marido y los beneficios del alquiler sirven para realizar mejoras en las instalaciones y manutención de los animales que allí residen. Cada mañana María sorprende con un abundante desayuno, pensado y adquirido con todo su amor.

No disponer de más tiempo para disfrutar del entorno, de la casita y de los cuidados por parte de Maria. El resto, de 10.

Very nice house, lots of attention to details. Fully equipped kitchen where we could prepare our evenings meals. Delicious pastries, fresh eggs, milk prepared by Maria the host every morning. Maria was very helpful and gave us lots of information about the area. She also organised the vet for our dog. The vet came to the house and Maria helped with translation . She is a great host and you can tell she enjoys what she does. The property is in the protected animal shelter but you don’t hear the dogs inside the house. It s about 2km to the nearest beach . Beach is very long, lovely and not busy at all.

The house is behind two entry controlled gates and there is no other exits to go for walk . You have to go through the animal shelter which was fine with us .

Maria is truly an exceptionally kind, caring and thoughtful person and her holiday home reflects that entirely. It has super comfy beds, well stocked extra supplies, really modern kitchen, great wifi and is spacious, clean and homely. After a difficult journey where we broke down twice, then had to leave our car to be fi7xed in Tarragona, Maria was our saviour and El Maset a very welcome refuge! We arrived to a kitchen stocked with delicious supplies, including a very welcome bottle of wine! Maria then drove us to the supermarket for a few extras for dinner, as well as taking my son and I to the doctor and pharmacy, unfortunately he was unwell and waiting with us for the entire time. We then awoke the next morning to a delicious home baked cake and on our final day found a Union flag flying outside our front door.....could you be made to feel more welcome?! Due to attempts to fix our car, we had little time to explore the area and on our final day, Maria allowed us to check out late "whenever suits you" and enjoy a morning on the beach, borrowing her beach equipment. She topped everything off with a gift and offer to collect my husband from the station, when he needs to return to collect our car. We thought our holiday was ending on a low point, instead Maria and El Maset will remain one of our most treasured memories! A truly heartfelt thank you to a truly wonderful woman!
