Song Ngư Riverside Homestay

Beautiful place with very friendly and accommodating people

A fantastic place in a beautiful setting. Wonderful people—both the owners and the staff. Cozy rooms. The place feels incredibly authentic to those of us who appreciate that sort of thing. The wine tasting was a highlight! We had a nice trip to Mekong where the homestay was a central to our good experience. The best mattress I’ve had in seven trips to Vietnam (addressing the criticism regarding the mattresses from others).

Food service took over an hour. The food was okay. The dogs. If you find it uncomfortable to have strange dogs running between your legs and jumping up on you, then it is very unpleasant. It wasn't just the owners' dogs, but the neighbors' dogs too. Dog owners often claim their dog is the friendliest in the world, but that doesn't help someone with a trauma related to dogs. Low water pressure. This is either an ongoing issue, or the pipe broke again after the homestay fixed it following a previous complaint—something they repeatedly claim to do whenever this is reported. The lack of hot water in the morning and late at night is a consequence of the highly sustainable way the water is heated. Annoying, but perfectly acceptable. Humid air in the room and a smell of mud. This is natural given the location, but something should be done about it if possible.

EVERYTHING. The location is amazing, staff is super friendly and goes above and beyond to help. They organize great tours and produce their own local rice wine.

Nothing.

Nice staff, nice swimming pool, interesting exotic setting.

Construction next door was very loud and disruptive, Fortunately, when I expressed my concerns to the owner, they allowed me to cancel the rest of my stay with little drama or pushback. Other concerns were very low water pressure and no hot water, unpleasant moldy odor emanating from the bathroom area.
