Vassilis Retreat

This is the second time we have stayed at Vassilis retreat - we were really happy when we were able to stay here again - the view from our balcony across Assos bay was absolutely breathtaking ! The owner ‘Socrates’ was really welcoming & chilled as on our last visit. Lovely room - very stylish, big comfy bed-we had the best night’s sleep. Good air conditioning & mosquito/ fly screens at the balcony doors. High quality bedding, soft pillows & fluffy towels. The balcony was a good size - table & seating for two plus a clothes rack / airer which was really useful. Complimentary toiletries & water were welcome. Good water pressure on shower head, non slip mat to use in the shower. I also used the swimming pool this time & really enjoyed having a dip after being out in the sunshine.

Nothing ! The only thing I would mention is that it would be better if there was a separate area to wash crockery rather than in the bathroom sink

Super nice staff, super CLEAN, we had the best time in Assos. They were really helpful during our stay. We stayed here with my fiance and could recommend 100%. The view was amazing, we were sick the first few days and I could have not been happier, that we had a terrasse and could enjoy our vacation “from inside” as well until we got better.

This was the most expensive of the 5 accommodations we stayed in during our 2 week holiday. Unfortunately it was the most disappointing. Hot water only obtained if you switch it on 15 minutes beforehand. The tap water is salty, so you can’t drink it from the tap, or use in the kettle (bottles of water were not provided). Bed not made up properly - top sheet just left folded on the bed, for us to make up. Only 3 pillows, of which only 2 had a pillow case. Only one bedside table/one bedside lamp. Shutters were electrically operated, but this was not obvious and no instructions given as how to open/close them. Room not serviced daily - only bins emptied. There is crockery and cutlery, but the washing up is up to you - and this is done in the bathroom sink, next to your toothbrush etc, and no room to place washed up articles. Such a shame, as so much of this could easily be improved.
