Quiet peaceful location.
The heating was somewhat limited so the house was rather chilly, but hey we put in extra clothes and managed.

The quietness
The location
The decor
The quirkiness of the step heights
The initial musty smell before the cottage warmed up.
The nightime kitchen slug-invaders. Very squishy and slimy underfoot when coming down to the loo.
It would be good if there was a light over the key box and a warning that glasses maybe required to select the correct code.
Couldn’t at first work out how to operate TV. Faced with four controls

Quirky cottage , very convenient for the town .
Stairs were very steep and wouldn’t be suitable for someone not very mobile especially as loo was downstairs.
Could do with new mattresses and furniture in lounge not very comfy .

The cottage is on the flat which is great news for not so able people , the cottage is well equipped, it is tastefully decorated and close to all amenities.
The loo seat is the wrong size the furniture in the lounge was not very comfortable .

Disappointed that we were unaware we were not aloud to leave our well behaved dog in the cottage whilst we were out for dinner which restricted our choice of restaurants to eat at. We do not recall having this information prior to booking our dog or paying for her stay. (We would have left her with family knowing that).
There was a need to inspect the property more often we think to check the cleaners have cleared high up cobwebs. The bedroom chest of drawers were also covered in cobwebs.
The garden need to be tided up, I know it’s early spring but if you advertise a nice garden, it needs to be ‘gardened’.
Untidy cupboard under the Tv which was a complete mess and the Tv was pain to operate and find channels stored.

Location and comfort.
Extremely loud extractor fan in bathroom. The seats in the garden were broken. The information about the bins was confusing.

Lily Cottage has many good points which far outweigh any negatives. Dropping off luggage, dog basket etc. was easy and parking in Mayors Avenue car park with permit supplied was achievable even though Dartmouth Food Festival was in full flow. The walk back is flat and takes about 6 mins.
The accommodation is small, quirky well equipped and reasonably clean. Bed linen and towels are very nice and there are fun artefact’s, pictures and vintage furniture throughout. Shower room and only toilet are downstairs so leave the hall light on at night! For a small place, the tv dvd playstation entertainment centre was good, once I’d fathomed the 4 remotes and opened the cabinet doors ( as instructed 🙈)
One problem is the top of the stairs if you have small children, drunk adults or clumsy people, there’s a fair chance a good tumble could occur! I’m not sure how this could be made safer.(see pics)
There is an overall smell of damp when you enter and in both of the bedrooms (main bedroom ceiling pic), but there are many good things about this place, that it doesn’t detract, too much to this great somewhat unique holiday let.
The holiday cottage charges as much as the bigger less “quirky” places, hence the fact it was still available for half term/ food festival near the time, ( fortunately for us) but in my opinion could and should be somewhat cheaper. Either way the three of us + dog, enjoyed our last minute stay.

Great location
Steep stairs, bathroom downstairs, smell of damp in kitchen.

Location was central to the town with a lovely garden just across the path. The cottage was very well equipped. The bathroom was new and the shower was great.
Cleanliness was a real issue here with thick cobwebs that had clearly been there over weeks. The real issue however was the smell of damp on entering the cottage. Arguably you expect some damp for a cottage of this age but mould is not acceptable. There was mould inside the wardrobe in the main bedroom so we couldn’t use the wardrobe and mould on the ceilings in the main bedroom.

Location was excellent. Nice Garden and cute property.
Sofas and beds were uncomfortable unfortunately.

Property was nice inside and in town, all flat for walking up a side lane, so quiet, nice spot. ideal for a couple.
The garden isn’t attached to the house and it never said that, so letting a dog out means you have to put them on the lead and walk them across the public path, toilet/bathroom on ground floor with sleep stairs so not great for in the night. cleaners forgot to leave toilet roll and we arrived late on a bank holiday so had nothing till shops opened the following day.

Absolutely lovely little cottage, proper quirky, felt right at home, garden was lovely, it's close to the shops but off the beaten track so no passers-by only nice neighbours, the woodburning stove was my favourite bit, relaxing next to it planing the next adventure. Thank you Lily cottage x
Nothing to do with the cottage but there was a down side, the letting agent (the manager)was quite rude and not very helpful. After a 6 hour journey we arrived and the keys didn't work? we phoned the agent and she said I must be doing it wrong, well the gardener didn't have any problems and the cleaner managed to use them . I repeatedly told her that doesn't help me. The cleaner was sent to us and ohh the key doesn't work she said she then opened the door with a different key, there was more from the same manager not much help .. we spoke to the owners and she was so apologetic even though it wasn't down to her we did have a lovely stay after a rocky start A1 for Lily cottage can't wait to go back

Nice cottage with a short walk into the town .
Garden untidy and could to with a bit off renovation.. fridge is unsuitable for a weeks stay unless you don’t mind visiting the shop every day ?

Excellent location- short flat walk into Dartmouth town. Also excellent heating- underfloor heating in living room and efficient electric heaters in main bedroom and living room, with towel on all the time to heat and dry towels. The car parking permit was very helpful. Ideal for a couple.
Just a little low in the ceiling for my 6 foot husband, but we should expect that in an old cottage type property! Although we had information regarding removal of some facilities from the property because of Covid-19 eg. hairdryer and DVDs etc they don't seem to have been removed- not sure if that is good or bad!!

The location was excellent and a short flat walk into town
It’s an old cottage and with a small baby not being able to park outside and being reliant on heaters was a bit tricky but would have been fine asa couple
