Dar al Hossoun

Dar Al Hossoun is quite simply an En-Gedi oasis in the desert. From the moment we arrived, we felt as though we had stepped into another world, with several beautiful peacocks wandering gracefully around the grounds, adding even more charm and magic to this extraordinary place. The pools and surrounding botanical gardens are absolutely out of this world—a paradise of palms, flowers and hidden corners, that somehow feels both luxurious and completely tranquil. The food deserves special mention too. We had both lunch and dinner in the restaurant and every meal was exceptional; beautifully prepared, full of flavour and served in a wonderfully relaxing setting. Breakfast beside the pool each morning was equally perfect and a wonderful way to start the day. What really makes Dar Al Hossoun so special, though, is the people. Every single member of staff is incredibly polite, warm and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble and there never seems to be anything that isn't possible. Their hospitality is genuinely outstanding. We visited in July when temperatures reached 43°C, yet we hardly noticed. A combination of dipping in and out of the pools, the wonderfully cool air conditioning in both the room and restaurant, and the abundance of shaded areas made it remarkably comfortable—even for two visitors from cold England! Our room was fantastic, centred around a beautiful open courtyard enclosed by glass, complete with a tree growing in the middle and an outdoor shower that made the whole experience feel incredibly special and unique. I could go on and on, but to put it simply, I cannot recommend Dar Al Hossoun highly enough. On every level—setting, food, comfort and hospitality—it is truly exceptional. We left feeling completely relaxed and already talking about when we can return.

Everything: we loved a charming room, garden, food at the restaurant, people at the hotel including a dog and peacock. We would come back.

Towels were a bit rough.
