Telchac Puerto is known for being small, slow and quiet, where you
will find the locals very friendly. Being such a small village, you
will feel at home quickly, get to know the shop keepers and them you.

The beaches are great for walking with few to no people on them. They are not
crowded with fishing boats, other tourists, breakwater sticks
every twenty feet and wall-to-wall houses like in Chicxulub and
Progreso. Telchac Puerto is for people looking for a place that is
more private and uncrowded.

Swimming is good all year long. The water is safe, clean Gulf water
with no rocks, currents or ebb tides. It is very swimmer friendly.

We have ceiling fans throughout our home and AC in the bedrooms. We include 15 KW’s of electricity per day. If you are mindful of your use, you won’t go over.

There is an international airport in Merida, with direct flights from Houston, Miami, and Mexico City. It can be less expensive to fly into Cancun, rent a car there and drive over - about four hours.

We will have a hot meal awaiting you on your arrival day.

Having a car will make your stay much more enjoyable.

Our family was looking for a place away from the crowds and on the water. We found one in Judy’s home. She was always there for tips on good places to shop and eat. Francisco, the caretaker, was very friendly and always had a smile for us. Though we didn’t know much Spanish, he was really good with Google translate. The house itself had everything we needed to cook our meals. What impressed me was there were several ways to make a good cup of coffee! And, as I told Judy, the home had a very relaxing vibe to it. It was just what our family was looking for. Thank you Judy, for sharing!

The pictures don’t do it justice. Everything from the beach to the pool were perfect. Judy is a wealth of information and made the who process seamless. When we got the Francisco took it from there. Regular cleanings, we got him to prepare food for us a few times and we were never disappointed. He lives at the front of the property but you never really see him. We found it easy to find even late at night. Lots of options for food also. We will be back very soon. We have stayed in a lot of vrbo’s and this was one of the best.

We've stayed in this (sleepy, beautiful) area of the Yucatan a few times and Judy's place is by far the most well-kept, magical home we've booked. From the lentil (we're vegetarian) dinner that met us when we arrived, and Francisco's attention and kindness throughout, to the private, lovely outdoor space -- every detail was so thoughtful. Judy is a great communicator and ambassador for the region. We had Christmas here with our grown kids -- very special memory for us. Francisco even gave us a box of shell decorations for a branch tree. Thanks for an amazing break in this wonderful part of Mexico.

Where to start. Property is easy to find and good roads all the way. Telchac Puerto is a great little village, but be advised they roll the streets up at about 530. The house itself is perfect. Beutifully decorated, comfortable, and well equipped. Geckos are awsome and come out at night. Bring a black light flashlight and go scorpion hunting in the thatch roof of tha palapa. But dont be afraid. They are awsome to see and no threat to you. We could usually find 4 but without the black light you wont know they are there. Ocean was wonderful to swim in right in front of house. Beutiful beach for walking. Fish, birds, crabs galore. Pool was amazing and once i taught our 18 year old to mix pina coladas was like our own private resort. The caretaker Francisco is the star of the show. He can arrange anything you need. He is a nice guy and always checks up but not intrusive. He welcomed us with a delicious stew. Gave us fresh coconut water (we drank a lot of coconut water as they are everywhere) and went fishing with us on a boat. Truly he is the cherry on this place. The seafood restaurants on the way into town were good. 30 km east is an honest to god lost pirate treasure of Jean LaFeatte. Progresso is a nice daytrip as is Merida. Telchac Pueblo has a great market. Most only speak eapanol but with google translate and a few basic phrases "es no problema"
