About this farm stay rental
A Grand Federation homestead awaits you for your stay. Charles Boydell settled here and established Camyr Allyn in 1828. This beautiful historic farm is situated in the Barrington region of the Hunter Valley with breathtaking views of the Allyn River Valley. Nearby historic towns of Morpeth and Paterson offer art, craft and antique shops with numerous restaurants and cafes on offer.
An historic country retreat with a cosy homely feel. The homestead can accommodate up to 12 guests (in either King or Twin share combinations), with intimate groups of up to 6 housed in the fully self-contained Lagoon Farm Wing and for larger groups there are rooms in the main homestead for an additional 6 guests. Meal packages are available on request.
Relaxed Farm Atmosphere
Absorb the fresh country air and relax by the pool or retreat indoors to play billiards. Depending on the season you can swim and relax around the pool, enjoy the spa, or tuck yourself away on the lounge by the fireplace, a gorgeous setting in which to enjoy a range of activities or total relaxation. The unique Australian wildlife includes kangaroos grazing amidst contented Camyr Allyn cattle, platypus in the Allyn River, and rich and diverse native bird life.
Visit the local vineyards of the Hunter Valley along with gourmet restaurants.
Explore the Countryside.
There are many activities to re-connect you with that sense of one-ness, from fishing in the Allyn River to hiking in the Barrington Tops National Park. Head off on foot for leisurely walks along the Allyn River and countryside or just hop in your car and experience a drive through the beautiful Allyn Valley. For a round of golf your choice is between a quaint 9 hole country course or a grand resort championship course within the region. Finally, our manager can also provide yoga and meditation classes if you so desire... at sunrise too!

We were warmly welcomed by our host on arrival. He showed us all the amenities from the rooms to the spa and pool as well as the pizza oven. Our stay included a generous amount of fresh eggs, bacon, sausages and an assortment of other breakfast goodies. The layout of the kitchen, lounge and pool table flowed out to the pool with a lovely big table on the covered verandah. On a clear night the stars were absolutely amazing. We loved the country feel, fresh air and abundance of wildlife. The space of the property was perfect for our family to spread out and come together and celebrate a milestone birthday. It was the perfect location.

Property was exactly as described. Very clean. Property manager was very welcoming. The only thing I wish was that the location be closer to the Hunter Valley wineries.

My wife and I visited Camyr Allyn for my birthday, drawn in mostly by the photos of the solar heated pool and gas heated spa that could be enjoyed even on the cooler days. Greeted by the most friendly and hospitable caretaker we've come across in our travels, Tracey showed us all the features offered by the property. The Homestead is intended for larger groups, but also suits couples wanting to get away for a special occasion. The wing we stayed in was spacious and clean and the breakfast inclusions were more than adequate, while the homemade muffins thrown in by Tracey were an appreciated personal touch. Even though the Homestead is quite large, they only have one group staying there at a time to ensure you get the facilities all to yourself. While Tracey and Cameron are close by if you need anything extra, they otherwise keep their distance to ensure your privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to get back there soon!Make sure you check out the range of jams/conserves that are made onsite from fruits grown in the Camyr Allyn Homestead garden.
