VISU VILLA hotel

Good location and quiet, a few minutes by tuk tuk out outside of Habarana. Nice rooms, clean and good air conditioning. Comfortable bed with a mosquito net. Nice breakfast and helpful staff. It’s the owner, Ruwan, that made this place special. Nothing was too much to ask. From the time of booking I received a WhatsApp message with tours and information, very easy communication from before our arrival, he picked us up from the train station at Habarana and drove us to the hotel, then to a local restaurant that he recommended- Magic Restaurant (which turned out to be excellent food and a great price- actually some of the best food we’ve had so far in Sri Lanka) and fixed us an elephant safari for the next day, took us early to safari park to avoid the crowds so we got to see maybe 80-100 elephants close up before the mid afternoon rush of other tours. And also fixed transport to and from the grocery store, a cultural event and another restaurant recommendation for our second night, and onward transport to our next destination. Really excellent service 👌 there are probably cheaper tours but it was worth paying a little extra for the convenience and to avoid the crowds.

Only a slight thing- the WiFi was out of action while we were there.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Visu Villa. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional — the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and at home. The villa was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, and the peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect place to relax with family. Our kids absolutely loved the place and the people — they felt so comfortable and didn’t want to leave, which says a lot! A special mention to the team for their kindness and attention to detail. They truly went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and friendly stay. We will definitely be back!

Wow, it was fantastic. We have travelled around Sri Lanka for a month and ended our trip here and I am so glad we did because going the other way round would have made everything else an anti climax. Ruwan, the owner was fabulous throughout our time here and nothing was a problem. He went out of his way to make our stay here as memorable as possible. He is also a very good cook. We ate here every meal because they were tasty and fresh and we were unable to finish because of the amount. The pool was great and we enjoyed watching the monkeys playing in the trees above. This is a proper jungle retreat with animal parks very close by. We even saw wild elephants walking on the side of the road. Ruwan and his staff made us feel very special and if we come back to Sri Lanka we will definitely stay here again. Many thanks H Ruwan.
