The Cottages by the Sea Free parking

I was there for solitude and it was quiet and comfortable. Purchase a private garden area with chairs and table - and I even ate a plum off a tree in the yard! So close to the ocean it was lovely to walk along the beach and breathe in the air. Found a lovely restaurant close by called The Beach with tables on the beach where I watched kitesurfers. A closed in area too but I didn’t go in there. There is a Londis and very popular breakfast cafe (Broken Egg’s) round the corner. I walked 20 minutes along the River Arun to town center and ate at a cafe overlooking the river harbor. Lighthouse cafe - but that may not have been its name. It was a very pleasant stay for me.

The only negative I had was that the crockery and cutlery were not all clean. Obviously a previous guest had used them and put away not properly washed. I was able to wash what I needed so no big deal, but I do think the cottage cleaner should check everything in the cupboards. A blanket for the couch smelled like dogs so I didn’t use it.

Location was perfect

The location was close to the beach and town centre, this was great seen as I don't drive. The garden in the annexe was quiet and tranquil, not overlooked so quite private. The hosts were responsive and kind. Some misunderstanding with our queries however.

The description of the cottages is confusing, I thought I was getting the main cottage when booking but after confirmation saw I booked the annexe. The photos are mixed together on the website showing both cottages together, not separating the 2 so you're not sure which part you're staying in till you get there. I was disappointed to say the least when arriving . The bedroom in the annexe is definitely not 'en-suite' so shouldn't say that and it shouldn't say 'exclusive use of both cottages. ' This is a false statement. The sofas and lounge area had dog hairs everywhere. One of the dining chairs was wobbly and unsafe, (not new furnishings) The oven was tricky to work and cut out. The bathroom light kept going off and couldn't get it to override the light system they'd fitted.
