Location and character
Room ( Pevensey) had no door/screen to the en-suite. Service not good at dinner - cutlery not set and forgotten, brought out cutlery for each course AFTER dish had been served. Long wait for wine requested 15 minutes before starter, reminded after 10 minutes., and arrived almost after the starters had been eaten.

Too many afternoon teas.
Too few staff. Staff working long hours and dress code was scruffy.. Restaurant service was poor.
