This charming, unpretentious but authentic California structure will make your visit rejuvenating and memorable. We are welcoming travelers, adventurers, students, business men, job interviewers etc. The house is 2 bedroom one bath, on a quiet street, with deck and garden to relax. The house gets sun all day long – in the morning in the front part and in the afternoon in the back part on the deck. The rooms are good size, with warm hardwood floors; The house can fit comfortably 5 people or even 6 people can be fit if needed. WELCOME!

Tons of grocery and other shops around, easy parking on the street, nice and quiet neighborhood with lots of young people around.

Johnny’s house was indeed quiet and restful! It is simple and basic but actually exceeded our expectations of what that might mean. The property is older and shows wear, with all the quirks of a vintage home. Indoor spaces and the balcony were freshly cleaned; the porch had lots of leaves from the massive tree out front. The neighborhood is quiet and very walkable, with great restaurants just a block away. It feels like you are staying over at the home of a friend or relative, very much in character with the Berkeley vibe. Be advised that the single-car driveway is VERY narrow. The only mirror is in the bathroom- guests may want to bring a portable mirror if more than a couple people are staying. We slept well in comfortable beds, with no traffic sounds except the train in the distance. Very much enjoyed the sunshine and birdsong on the balcony. Easy drive back to Cal and all that North Berkeley has to offer.

Property was dated but clean. Check-in was delayed by 1.5 hrs at request of host, Johnny T, but went smoothly otherwise. Communications with host were good using phone or messaging throughout the 3-week stay.Kitchen facilities were adequate, with a large sturdy table, plenty of implements and china, pots and pans.

Comfortable beds, great location, kitchen well stocked. House has stained kitchen chairs and an unpleasant scent. We did not mind the house being old but everyday items need to be replaced. Especially in the bathroom: shower curtain and bath mat.
