About this cabin rental

*** The Best Kept Secret in Colorado! ***
Looking for a cozy get-a-way to relax and unwind?

Nestled on 4+ acres among pines, firs, and aspens, lovely Blue Bell Cabin welcomes you to a mountain get-away. It sits at about 9100 feet and has a secluded feel while just 10 minutes from town. It's a wonderful mountain destination surrounded by spectacular scenery, an area rich in history, and fun-filled activities for everyone. Blue Bell Cabin can be your home base while you explore all our mountain area has to offer or it can be your quiet escape where you relax and just breathe.

Whether you visit in summer, fall, winter, or spring, our cabin provides privacy and comfort and a chance to connect with nature. You can enjoy great mountain views, a night of star-gazing, sunrises over Pikes Peak, and colorful sunsets from our two private decks. Unwind after a day in the mountains with a barbecue and our gas grill on the back deck. Enjoy bird-watching and the deer as they browse through each day. Scenic drives like Phantom Canyon Road are literally everywhere and hiking abounds at several area state parks and national forests, like Mueller State Park. Explore all the charm and history of Cripple Creek including a trip to the Cripple Creek Heritage Center where you can learn about our gold mining history and take in spectacular views. Be sure to keep an eye out around town for our famous donkeys. Our local Butte Theatre offers professional live theater year-round. Seasonally, you can ride the Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad. Visit nearby Rita the Rock Planter, our amazing giant wooden troll sculpture, the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center, Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center, Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, and ride to the top of Pikes Peak. Enjoy fly-fishing in Gold Medal Waters, snow skiing on world class slopes, gambling in nearby casinos, and white water rafting and zip-lining at the impressive Royal Gorge.

Our cozy, 2-bedroom, 1 bath chalet-style cabin accommodates 6 adults with a Queen bed in both of the upstairs bedrooms and a Queen sleeper sofa with memory foam mattress downstairs. The bright, sunny rooms both upstairs and down are welcoming, provide great views, allow nice passive solar heating and cool mountain breezes. The bedrooms share a closet at the top of the stairs and have either a dresser or chest of drawers for your belongings. One bedroom has a Smart TV and private balcony. Linens for bed and bath are provided. You will find the sleeper sofa linens in the upstairs closet, as well as two portable electric heaters. Extra blankets for the beds are kept in the upstairs window seat storage. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, glasses, pots and pans, utensils, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, blender, linens, microwave, a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and electric range with glass cook-top. Our bathroom is downstairs and has a tiled tub/shower combination. The wood stove serves as a very efficient alternative to the radiant baseboard heating and the fireplace offers a romantic element.

If you are considering traveling with a dog, we require prior approval before accepting a booking request. Part of our Rental Agreement is a Pet Addendum, which includes our "cabin rules" for visiting dogs. Our pet form asks for your dog's name, breed, color, weight, age, sex, and if it has been spayed or neutered. When you submit a booking request, please include this information. We will send you the form as a reply so you can easily access it.

We have free WiFi for your convenience and recommend connecting your cell phone to it for a stronger signal. For safety and security, we have exterior cameras on our property. Our cabin sits at the bottom of our crushed granite driveway (also used for neighborhood streets) and below street-level, so we strongly recommend an all-wheel/4-wheel drive vehicle during our rainy/snowy winter into spring months. It's dark in the mountains so we have a variety of solar lighting to help you find our driveway and move comfortably from car to cabin. There is a large, flat area at the bottom of the driveway with motion-sensor lighting for parking. The crushed granite path to our front door has solar path lights and more motion-sensor lighting. There is one small step up to our front deck where you will enter. Our large back deck has several steps for access.

We would love to share our cabin and special corner of Colorado with you. We always welcome any information you want to share about yourself and your trip in your booking request. Please let us know if you have any questions.

This host went above and beyond helping us through a situation that went bad with another host. He accommodated us by allowing us to check in 2 days early and even apologized for our prior bad experience. He kept in touch to make sure we had what we needed. The cabin was immaculately clean. In a beautiful mountain setting. We were able to relax and enjoy the rest of our vacation. I would highly recommend rental with this host.

We loved our stay! It was a much needed getaway, and the cabin was perfect for it.

Property was beautiful and great to look at. The property was clean and maintained. The cabin could definitely use some updates on the features of the cabin. A newer living room tv would be better. Something to connect too. Property also has cameras two on front and one on second level and another at front door. These were not mentioned in the listing anywhere. This made us uncomfortable. It was pet friendly and had an extra leash in case you forgot yours. You have to haul your own trash away if HOA is open. There is a lot to do in the surrounding towns and the views are breath taking. The owners were easy to get a hold of and very friendly people. We just recommend possibly updating certain features of the cabin and making sure to communicate about any cameras as VRBO policy says has to be done.
