Palais Dar Ouladna

Very nice estate and super friendy, attentive and helpful staff, loved that. It is a short car ride from the central Marrakech and medina. Received good tips regarding what to see and where to go in Marrakech. They alsi have hamam which we didnot have time to use. They offer own shuttle servise which was very helpful

There is some street and railway noise but rather distant. Some rooms may require simle paintwork. These factirs did not affect overall good and warm experience.

The staff! Wow. Hakima, Fatima and Armin really looked after us! We couldn't have asked for more. When we needed anything they were available but not in our face all the time. The house is absolutely stunning and well maintained. We loved lying by the pool and relaxing in the garden. We are very active people and managed to get a walk around the area each evening which was very pleasant too.

We assumed we would be able to walk into town from the house, but this was not possible due to the busy roads. However, Armin did offer to drive us and it was really easy to get a taxi. The noise from the road was a bit loud, but we do live in the middle of the countryside so just not used to any noise at all!

Fantastic venue. Amazing decorations. Kind and helpful staff. Beautiful garden with pool. Wonderful and big room.

Lots of noise from the street at night. Breakfast was ok, but a bit simple for a palace.

THis is a superb building with large family rooms and ornate and beautiful shower rooms, fridges and kettles. THe pool is nice and surrounded by greenery, THe owner or manager was very helpful and friendly. Female staff were also very nice. I had hurt my back whilst in Morocco and the owner supplied me with a freezer pack for this which helped.

THe main problem was that the distance listed for this property when I booked was just over 4km. BUt this was not correct and very misleading. It turned out to be 8km form the centre eg Jamaa Al Fna. It was extremely difficult to find because cab drivers do not understand the address listed, that address is a waste of time using. The only way you can make a cab understand is if you say Clinique Atlas which is fairly near the property, which is in Targa, a suburb of Marrakesh. But you will have to guide the cab from there. I had real difficulites in getting cabs to and from this property. On day I had got two cabs and had to give up in the end, the owner did come and pick me up eventually when I called him. Almost impossible to get a cab from the property without booking online but that would require advance booking. I gave up tryign to get a cab one day and it took me two hours to walk into Marrakesh. Although the manager had offered to give me lifts places, this was not necessarily practical, because it is dependant on him being available. It is a long way from Marrakesh in terms of walking. IF you have your own car then that would be no problem, as the drive is 20-30 mins depending on traffic. . THe rooms are really family rooms, I was a single person. I had to move out of my first room after a couple of days because the blind was faulty would not go down at night and the balcony was shared by several rooms so that made me feel exposed. One of the male members of staff had an attitude with me and I did nto feel comfortable around him. He also was irritable because he thought he was going to have to move my things from one room to another so I told him to go and I would prefer to move my own staff. His attitude was not great. I had not asked to move rooms as teh room I was in was very nice and comfortable, it was the hotel decision. I would have preferred them just to fix the blind but for some reason they could not do that.
