The most disappointing stay ever

The owner is a lovely man.

The bed was as uncomfortable as it gets. The mattress was sunken with an Ikea topper. The only time I have ever woken up in a hotel with a back ache. The parking was too small which caused my husband a lot of stress.

the bed was good, the garden was nice

the room was dark and very old-fashioned; and it was next to the hotel's restaurant where they made a lot of noise after 23h00 (I complained about that and the manager acted adequately, I must say!)

Excellent host

Robert is a great host, there was a problem with our room, which very quickly resolved. Quite room overlooking the beautiful garden.

The bathroom had a bath with handheld shower, which meant water went everywhere when used as a stand up shower.

beautiful place with beautiful food

It was our last night travelling and chose this beautiful place. It was stunning, the host Robert was so welcoming and such a character. the rooms were lovely and as for the food, the only word I can use is “ magnifique”

We had a very large room in the old barn, which was great, though fittings were rather tired. Breakfast was substantial - more than we had been led to expect - but was not available earlier than 8.30 a.m. Gorgeous garden at the back for guests to enjoy

The restaurant attached to the inn is run separately and is very busy, which affects the limited car parking. We tried it a few times during our stay and found service very slow, choice limited and prices inflated. Fortunately there were alternatives not too far away.

There's an amazing restaurant and we greatly enjoyed the food. There's also a lovely terrace to sit outdoors if the weather is nice and a beautiful garden at the back where you can sit in the summer.

Good to stay a few nights: a clean bed, a good shower and a decent breakfast

Well kept good room, with a nice bed and good shower, in what from the outside looks like this side-building could use a brush of paint. But Robert (owner) was very nice, also speaks English well. The continental breakfast was simple but good.

No true reception (it is mainly a restaurant), so a bit weird language hampered arrival, not knowing what to expect. Outside smokers from the restaurant can become a bit noisy.

excellent stay in the Ardennes - lot of activities outside (walk, visit, eating facilities)

it was marvelous! both restaurant, room, breakfast were very nice and tasty. We have been lost in the woods while it became dark and the hotel owner was prepared to take us with his car, we were 10 miles away from the good way. The view of the restaurant on a beautiful garden, was very goodlooking and peaceful. We will certainly return for a weekend.

Birthday weekend away

The room was quite nice and spacious. There was a good-sized bathroom with a walk-in shower. The toilet was separate from the bathroom. All in all a nice room! Despite the notice in the room that the continental breakfast only consisted of some baguette, jam, coffee and orange juice (a supplement of €10/pp for a more elaborate breakfast), we were very pleasantly surprised to discover in the morning that the breakfast also included a croissant, a chocolate bread and yoghurt.

There were minor tears in the sheets, the carpeted floor was slightly stained and so was the bedspread. The room was a bit "dated" maybe.

Such lovely and helpful staff, we felt so welcomed by the owner. The inn has a lot of character and the property is very well kept and taken care of. Beautiful garden and great breakfast too! Well located, only a few km away from great hikes in the Ardennes. Thank you Robert for taking such good care of your guests. :)

The hotel is very well situated. TEC bus stop in 2 min away, a bakery, a butchers shop, pharmacy and supermarket 5 min walk away. Walking trails are close. Nature and rural places are wonderful.

The bed was not very comfortable. The room is charmingly rural, but needs some refreshment.

Prima hotel op een fijne locatie

Hele fijne locatie dichtbij de Hoge Venen. We hadden een kamer met uitzicht op de prachtige tuin. We konden parkeren voor de deur. Erg vriendelijk personeel, zeker de meneer bij het ontbijt. Het ontbijt was heel netjes verzorgd, meer dan genoeg! Een halve baguette, croissant, chocolade broodje, yoghurt, jus d'orange, koffie en thee. Als beleg was er ruime keuze zelfs ham en kaas. De kamers zijn misschien wat gedateerd maar het was er schoon en we hadden een prima bed. We komen er alleen slapen dus wat heb je nog meer nodig. Ook heel fijn dat we nog laat konden inchecken omdat we erg veel file hadden door de sneeuw. Wij komen graag nog eens terug.

Dramatisch, geld absoluut niet waard.

Afspraak van tijdstip werd nagekomen. Er was warm water. Het was erg rustig, heerlijk.

Accomodatie erg veel achterstallig onderhoud ! Ingangspartij lag vol met oude tuintafels, bladresten. Rolluik hing half open en was niet te gebruiken ( 2x hoofd gestoten), Kozijn op badkamer is half verrot. Stof op kastjes, kast. Klink van badkamerdeur hangt los. In eerste instantie was er alleen de eerste avond diner mogelijk. Jammer, krijgen wij 's avonds om 22.00 uur telefoon op onze kamer of we de komende dagen ook willen dineren. Nou ja zeg..........hoezo service gericht,

Dieses Zimmer ist nicht zu empfehlen. Das Hohe Venn an sich aber schon sehr!

Die zentrale Lage des Hotels im Hohen Venn.

Zimmer schmutzig (in Ecken und im Schrank), Spinnenweben im Bad und muffiger Geruch. Lage des Zimmers unmöglich (neben der Küche und den Restauranttoiletten) - durch diese Lage war es extrem laut: Geschirrklappern und Unterhaltungen vor allem des Personals. Dazu sehr laute Abflussgeräusche wenn in der darüberliegenden Etage das WC gespült wurde. Zimmer Nr 1 - es war das letzte zu diesem Zeitpunkt verfügbare Zimmer - es war das Letzte! Seinen Preis absolut nicht wert. Hotel Parkplätze in mehr als unzureichender Anzahl, da Nutzung auch durch Restaurantgäste. Restaurant und Frühstücksangebot haben wir aus Frust nicht genutzt.

Allez y vous serez surprit par la qualité du lieu

Rapport qualité prix excellent. Malgré la proximité des Francofolies les prix étaient très corrects. Nous avons été accueillis par des patrons très sympathiques et aux petits soins pour les clients. La chambre était très propre et à la hauteur de nos attentes. Une petite balade digestive dans le magnifique jardin à l'anglaise et dans le joli petit village de Jalhay où vous trouverez des petits artisans sympas. Franchement superbe endroit.
