Great apartment with a hell of a view. Perfect space to rent when coming to Grandfather Mountain

Walking up to the door I was struck by the great views, so the first thing I looked at when I walked in was the sliding glass door to the balcony. It was covered in child size handprints and foggy smears of who knows what. If you have kids, you know what this looks like, but you also know how gross it is. It usually involves child drool. It is unsanitary that this wasn’t cleaned, especially during a pandemic.
My kids found 2 pills on the floor in their room! Most likely ibuprofen that had been dropped but it shows the floor had not been vacuumed or inspected. I’m thankful they are old enough to know not to touch things like that.
In the bedroom with twin beds there is a sign that says do not put anything up against the baseboard heater, yet we noticed the bed was pushed right up against it. The headboard has a burn mark on it from this! We opted not to use the heat in that room because the placement of the bed did not feel safe.
The pictures make this place look a lot nicer than it is. The beds were comfortable though. Clean linens and the kitchen and bathrooms seemed clean.
